Zapper HQ:Macon Attn: May

Macon grumbled as he was tossed out into the streets, landing on his right knee, left foot against the ground. He turned back and tried to glare at the Technos who were standing guard over the door, dressed in plain clothing, but the sun hit his eyes and he could no longer see. It wasn't darkness this time, it was complete white, and where normally ( Read more... )

May sat there in the room, glaring at the door. How long was it going to take for this punk to get back here? What could he possibly be doing for so long. Maybe he had gotten in trouble for his little trip to the Mall. Either way she knew that if she didn’t get back to the Mall soon, Dax would be going nuts with worry. She heard the door open before she really saw Macon, her eyes having to come back to focus causing her brain to register that someone else was in the room. Even though Macon had been cleaned up, May could see that something had happened to him and from the way he moved she knew he wasn’t going to be in his best frame of mind. His manner caused her eyes to narrow, and she crossed her arms over her chest.

“Yeah, Yeah, busy man. You look like you very extremely busy getting a little roughed up yourself. But if you are too busy to make time for the only person who knows where Jordan is, I can leave right now. I could just go back to the Mall and tell that bitch, what’s her name, Salene?.. were to find him and they ( ... )

Who the hell did she think she was? Macon slammed his fist onto the table, "You better watch yourself girly," he snapped. There was no reason for him to lose his cool, she'd only been the way some Zappers were, the game had really messed up some brains. However, he was highly annoyed and not in the mood for some trashy girl giving him lip. "Tell me," he said, calming himself and crossing his arms, still glaring at her. "What is it with you and that Mall? Why did you go down there anyway? And why did that big fat one get all upset about how you were being treated? You know anything about thatMacon knew he needed to know where Jordan was, of course, that dumbass had gotten Macon tortured, it was his fault Becky had been at the Mall to begin with, and he was doing all of the wrong things. When Macon got his hands on him he was going to make him feel the pain he had just been through, and then he was going to delete him, just for kicks. But, before he got into that, he wanted to know more about her and the Mall, calling Salene a bitch ( ... )

She could only smirk as his hand came contact with the table. Her word had the exact reaction as she had hoped it was. When people were upset, they tended to not pick up on things as much as they would when they were level-headed. She shook her head at his questions, gesturing at her face. “Well if you must know. I came here first but almost everyone had left for the Mall, so I went there. You know that whole unity thing, but obliviously, those Rats seem to care about people who are hurt, so they reacted to me differently then the rest of us. I have no idea why the big one reacted like he did. Maybe he has a crush on me or something? I think he’s in the Militia, there is a possibility that he has seen me before. And besides, if he was around during the original game, He would know me from there.” She shrugged her shoulder, not really caring what he said about her, or Dax ( ... )

Macon was becoming increasingly frustrated with her, who did she think she was, his boss? "Listen here, you have said quite enough. You're not the leader around here, you have no idea what I've gone through for this Tribe, for the game. I don't need you giving me lip. Don't think I won't hit a girl," he snarled, thinking back on all she had said. Ok, so she'd gone to the Mall to find them and get cleaned up, that wasn't disallowed before, but it was now.

"Don't worry about Jordan, he was a stupid boy, the Mall Rats can have him, they'll probably give him a stern talking to and set him free, and then he'll be all mine. He won't like what I've got planned for him, not one bit, if he's even alive. I don't want you ever going down to that Mall again, none of us, they are the enemy, you hear me? I don't care if blood is pouring out of you, you die in the streets before you go back to them for help, got that? I don't care if your little Militia boyfriend is down there," he sneered, his lip curling into a nasty smile, eyeing her ( ... )

May watched him intently, and noted his reactions to her words. He really hated the Mallrats, which she could identify with that from her past. But his new rule about no-one going to the Mall was ridiculous. She didn’t give her life for just anyone, especially not some jerk like this guy, but she didn’t let on about her true feelings. In fact, she completely ignored his comments about Dax ( ... )

Macon raised his hand as if to backhand her, he was the leader, "You ungrateful bitch," he growled at her. "Didn't anyone ever tell you not to bite the hand that feeds you?" he advanced on her but didn't backhand her, instead he pressed his hand to his eye as he was hit with a searing pain. His brain felt like it was tightening down, and he couldn't think or see, and suddenly he felt like vomiting. Swallowing down hard, Macon blinked the pain down, "Get out of here, go out there and kill some Stingrays, and you find Jordan and bring him back here. I'm going to make it your personal mission," his eyes narrowed before he turned away ( ... )

Becky sat huddled in the closet, the blue blanket wrapped tightly around her. She had since cried once, but the tears had now dried, leaving her face feeling red and itchy. She rocked back and forth. When would Macon be back? Would he be back? The thoughts ran rapid through her head. What had happened in Reality Space? HOw had her wonderful trip turned into a horrible nightmare. She thought back to the monsters and the cement block falling on her and began to silently cry ( ... )

Macon's heart clenched as Becky emerged from the closet, wide eyed and pale. His hand moved down to pat her back, he didn't say anything for fear that he would choke up and cry. Tough guys didn't cry, and he'd never teach Becky to be tough if he started crying in front of her. Listening to her whine about the VR, he understood, it was rotten what Mega had put her through, but crying about it would do her no good at all ( ... )

Becky didn't look Macon in the eye as he tightly gripped her shoulders. He didn't love her anymore. Usually, if she was upset about something, he'd hug her, help her get through it, telling her it would be okay. But now, it seemed that Macon was more focused on winning that he used to be. What had changed him? He probably didn't understand what she had been through. The horrible monsters, the fire, the horrifying VR trip ( ... )

Macon crossed his arms over his chest, watching her throw her little tantrum. She'd been more like a pet to all of them, coddled and spoiled, and now she was a brat. She had no idea what he'd just gone through, and all for her. It was all because of Becky getting hurt that he'd gone down to the Mall, and it was because of his little trip that Mega tortured him. Hate was fine, Macon could deal with hate, he knew she didn't mean it, but if she hated everyone who cared for her, then she'd toughen up. He knew that, hate would harden her heart and she'd be a survivor, no longer relying on the kindness and handouts of the rest of the Tribe ( ... )

Becky wanted to lay there and cry. She hated Macon. He didn't love her anymore. He probably would tell her that she was a baby for having nightmares and being afraid of the dark. Jeck, she wouldn't be surprised if he kicked her out of the Tribe because she was a wuss. She wanted to be brave! She did! She had tried to fight those Stingrays earlier and look where it got her ( ... )

Macon laughed, "Six Stingrays you say?" He hadn't heard about that, all he knew was that she'd been hurt - possibly killed - and taken down to the Mall. The word made his skin crawl, and he shuddered, closing his eyes for a minute and swallowing the acid at the back of his throat back down. "Don't be sorry, Becky, be strong," he stood up, pacing away ( ... )

Becky clearly understood that Macon wanted her to be tough. No more whining, no more VR tea parties. It was time for vengance and revenge. She had to go out and there and kill. Go out there and hurt other people. And if it made Macon happy, she'd do it. She knew deep down that this entire war was wrong in so many ways, but Macon was her leader and her big 'brother' and what he said went ( ... )

Looking down at the little face, lips puckered, Macon used all that was within him to resist letting Becky go soft in any way. Kissing, hugging, it was all weakness, too loving, this was not that kind of world. He simply walked away from her, heading to a cabinet in the corner and putting the key attached to his wrist into the lock. Turning it, he opened it and pulled out a TGun for Becky, and a new blue bandanna for him. "Here," he told her, tossing the TGun in her direction. He tied the new bandanna to his forehead and took his TGun off, exchanging it for one of the recharged ones in the cabinet, setting his old one on the charger ( ... )

Becky didn't pout or say anything as she watched Macon look away. Her heart felt like it was breaking, but she knew this is what he wanted and it was what she needed to do. She sighed and went back down onto her feet, clasping her hands in front of her. This would be hard to get used to, Macon being so harsh and now having to prove herself to the Stingrays so they didn't hurt her, like Macon said they would. She closed her eyes, imagining the awful things they did to Macon and what they'd do to her. She shuddered at the thought ( ... )

"Yeah slow down cowgirl," he reached out and put a hand on her shoulder, pulling her back, "You'll have to do some target practice, but yeah, just shoot at Stingrays and we'll be cool, ok? If we get somewhere that has stupid virts then forget it, we don't want to shoot them. Cause how will we get new Zappers if we scare them or hurt them?" Macon limped towards the door and led Becky out into the street, his eyes causing sharp pains to go to his brain, cringing and biting through all of the pain.
