Yeah. So I'm Zac Hanson.I'm the drummer of Hanson. Ike and Taylor are my big brothers. I'm one of seven kids...yeah, Mom and Dad were pretty busy. Not to mention that, being religious, they don't believe in birth control. I was born in Arlington, Virginia, though not many people know that. We're from Tulsa, Oklahoma, but my family moved around alot. At one point, we lived practically in the middle of nowhere, no pun intended. We didn't have a TV, and we couldn't pick up radio signals, so we had no radio. Matter of fact, that's how we got into music. We brought Mom and Dad's oldies music along, so we would have something to listen to, and that, my friends, is how our love for music began.
We started singing early on. I could barely talk, yet I was harmonizing with my brothers. Then, back in Tulsa, Mom signed us up for piano lessons. I hated it, but Ike and Tay caught on right away, though Taylor was obviously more gifted when it came to the piano. I begged to learn to play the drums, Ike picked up a guitar...and you know the rest of the story.
The band has been on a break for about three years now. Most people think we gave up and crawled back to Tulsa with our tails tucked between our legs. Not so. We just didn't want to take the easy approach and record the CD in two months. No, we wanted to sit down and write every song ourselves, produce it ourselves, play each instrument ourselves. We ended up with two albums worth of material in the end. Some of it was shit, some was good. We're proud to say the album is finished now, and we're proud of it. It's definately got a mix of new elements, but the Hanson sound will always be there. The release date is tentatively this fall, if nothing delays it (knock on wood). Shortly after, we'll be touring in support of the album, then releasing a documentary which shows what we've been up to these past three years. Only thing you don't get to see is Taylor knocking up Natalie and then marrying her in a shotgun wedding.
But that, my friends, is a story for another time and place.
