let's get contentious
every time i read something from counterpunch or any other left wing blog, i always come away asking myself the same question over and over again-- who the hell gave europeans the exclusive right to a monopoly on issues of morality and righteousness?
first of all comparing israel to nazis will not absolve you of your guilt over the holocaust. and secondly using this sick, twisted cultural relativism scheme to ignore and protect those despotic regimes in the third world who commit unspeakable crimes will hardly gain you any sympathy with me. really, i'm not above political incorrectness. i don't care if you're rich, poor, black, white, brown, purple whatever, if there are still places in this world where homosexuality is punishable by death and women are assaulted and raped, and ignored by their respective judicial systems, let's just say, you lose your immunity. even if you are in the third world.
it's sort of like my take on racists. you could be a good loving husband with a family and obey the law and pay your taxes on time and all that shit, but if you hold any genuinely racist, anti-semitic or discriminatory views, in my opinion you are not a good person. and that's kind of how i think many people are, and is pretty much one of the main reasons why i hate most people.
that's why i'm so optimistic :1
