"She's right guys, tonight is celebrating, even if you think the whole thing is screwed. Then you just celebrate anyway, because it's about gettin' drunk as hell! Who wants to dance?"
Hey, some of us can't get drunk as hell, or we'll face hell and thensome in the morning, thanks. Madsen seems to quickly forget who's the ex-drunk around here. The ex drunk who's just recieved a serious burn from the girlfriend who hates him.
Who was kind enough to give our good bartender a kiss on the cheek. Isn't that a special moment.
"Yeah." I muttered, taking the virgin margarita and feeling like more of a loser because lucky Sam will be the only one not drinking this fine night.
"Thanks Jake." I tried as hard as I could to actually mean that. I'll be nice to the guy, if not just for tonight. "And thanks for getting the bar too." ... That was harder to get out than I thought it'd be.
"Let me have a few more of these, then we'll see,"She shouldn't say that. Too bad I can't warn her I happen to know that Madsen considers her very hot damaged
( ... )
My brother looks like a kicked puppy, but Dan's here. And he looks good as usual, and I want I want I want I want...
But I can't have. Get a grip Arianna while there's still time to do that. Not on him, don't think that way. You're not supposed to think that way, so you need to think about getting a grip on..
STOP THINKING THAT WAY!
I need another drink. I got one from the other bartender who looked sort of stupidly okay with everything. That's sort of sad, when you see guys like that. It means they get walked all over really easy.
After downing my drink, I threw myself out there, and sort of felt like doing literally. "I'll dance."
I'm sad, but even when I should be, I'm not completely heartless. Sam looked pouty while he was sipping his margarita, and at first, I figured he was just pissed off that Jake was getting more attention out of me than he was. Jake was spending the week with me while Sam was going far away, he deserved it. Besides, people tend to pay less attention to Jake and take him foregranted, and that's dumb. Jake's one of the sweetest guys I know.
Maybe I should hook him up with Arianna.
I downed my drink in record time, figuring that if I went through mine quickly, Sam wouldn't notice me with a glass as much, and he'd stop being a big baby over the whole thing. I'm the one who was dragged here. The party is for Sam, and he looks the most depressed out of any of them, not counting me. I ordered one more, finished it off, and turned my attention back to Sam
( ... )
Alex and Madsen seem to be lessening the alcohol supply. I wonder if there will be any left when later rolls around and I want a beer.
"I'll dance."
Holy shit, I feel like Eve. And if I'm her, there's an apple in front of me and a serpent close by. Madsen could probably care less about dancing with Arianna, he'd have a better night hitting on the women here who he doesn't know. Arianna's Sam's little sister. Aside from being too young for him, she's off limits because of her relation to Sam. She's off limits to me because of her relation to Carly.
I don't think dancing is considered a limit. I think it's a general activity.
It's different.
"Dance with me." I grinned, half expecting to get rejected. "Madsen seems more interested in his drink than getting up and doing something."
Aw, Carly's making eyes at Sam. Yay! They're making up! Maybe! I hope that by the time they get home, they'll be happier than they were when they came in, if only just a little. I would hate to see Sam leave for the Bahamas with nothing but bad feelings between the two of them. That wouldn't be good for anyone.
Meanwhile, we've acquired a Dan. Who is asking Arianna to dance with him. Always hoped those two crazy kids would make it. Not really, I've just always wanted to say that, and... God, how much alcohol did Jake put in this? I downed my first two drinks quick, sure, but just to get the buzz going. I shouldn't be rambling this much yet. I mean, I ramble every day without being drunk, but this is like... super rambling.
Oh hey, there's Kip.
"Kip!" I flagged him down, since Jake was busy setting up the next party over with another round of beers. "Hey! Refill me, will you? And find out what Jake is putting in my Russians, because... oof."
"Sure thing."
"Thanks." Aw. Kip is so cute and compliant. Too bad he's dumb as a post.
I thought it took less to get me drunk... is this my eighth shot, or ninth? Or... or...
Alex is hot.
And looks kind of drunk herself. And really, what does that 'The Snowflake's Best Friend' title matter? She's hot, it works, let's go for it. What the hell does it matter?
"Had enough yet?" I said as I headed over to her, leaning against the bar next to her. Cool thing is, I'm half drunk... I think. Well, at least enough not to slur and shit like that.
Oh. Yeah. Sure. Definitely. Jake doesn't get to do anything like this. But I do. I like that. In fact, I sort of pity Jake for no longer having that. It must suck to be him.
"Dance with me. Madsen seems more interested in his drink than getting up and doing something."
... I'm not going to let that worry me at all. Or the look in Arianna's that's screaming yes with a kind of puppy look on the side. Or the fact that she's going to get drunk tonight, and Dan will be around to help her get home...
I'm going to enjoy my girlfriend now.
"Yeah. Definitely." I nodded to Carly. "Would be great."
I'm surprised I'm getting much of anything while she's still sober, but I know better than to question anything like this. Question it, and it's gone just as fast as it came.
"Dance with me. Madsen seems more interested in his drink than getting up and doing something."
Dance with... who said that? The Dan that exists or the Dan that exists inside my head that tends to walk around without a shirt and likes to...
Oh, it's the real Dan. Of course.
Huh?!
"... Sure." I could mess this up, couldn't I. I need another drink.
After picking up an extra shot, everything seemed a little bit nicer. I can do this. Confidence is key. Very key.
"Come on." I smiled to him, and led him out to where we could dance even though it's an open heckling zone. But I don't care about that for the moment, everything's sort of nice...
I smirked and finished off a shot, then contemplated getting out a breath mint or something. Alcohol breath when your boyfriend is a former drunk. It's probably not the best idea, but we're on location, go figure.
"Good."
I'll sleep better while he's gone if I know that he's not desperate for sex. No one wants their boyfriend to go away while he's all horny and deprived.
"Come on."
Dan and Arianna are going to dance. Dan is either doing this to spite me, or he really likes her. He never likes anyone. I mean he likes them, but he doesn't like them. He's career guy. He's not supposed to be doing this right now! And what is with Arianna and the look in her eyes
( ... )
She's cool with it. I didn't know if she would be cool with it. I didn't think she would be. The way Carly tells it, we're opposite sides of the same family. I thought she might have brainwashed Arianna into agreeing with her. I bet she didn't get the time, she walked out pretty quickly, and took the man of the hour with her.
My mother always said she was the most respectable member of our family.
I put my arms around Arianna and moved in close. I lucked out when they played a slow song. I've been to clubs, and I think I could handle anything, but this is good, more intimate. The slower the better. I think the drinks are starting to go to Arianna's head anyway, she's better off keeping to a slow pace.
He's rather close. I really like that. I wonder if he's being close because of the song, or because he actually wants to be. Either way, Black Eyed Peas is now my favorite band, just because of this.
I really do love this song though.
I put my arms around his neck and moved in a bit closer. "I am completely perfect right now, what about you?" I grinned and moved my hips to the music. I like this. A lot. And since everything sort of has a fuzzy feel, especially considering what's going on, I think I could get used to all this.

Shouldn't he be carding me?
"I'm fine for now, thanks."
