Typical.

Class sucked today. Santiago flipped out at some kid for showing up unprepared. The lecture that followed was on respecting your clients as human beings. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to tell that the entire discussion was a rant in disguise. Rants aren’t bad, but if I had known I was going to end up listening to one for an hour and a half, I would have brought a pillow. I was going to curl up my sweatshirt, but Jess was getting cold. She needed it more than I did; her outfit wasn’t as practical.

I pissed her off when I turned down her offer to get something to eat at Friday’s. Jess is cool enough, but I don’t feel like spending two hours having dinner when I could make something myself in twenty minutes or less. I also have a paper to write for psych. The deadline is Thursday, but I want it out of the way. Once I get it done I can have Aunt Carly check it over, and then I can relax about it and work on my lab.

Physics is hell. There’s no reason for me to be paying for and participating in a class that will never have any significance in my life, but I’m in too far over my head. The way I see it, if I drop the class now all of my existing effort goes to waste. I’ve clocked enough hours in to make me want to see this thing through, despite the fact that it bores the living hell out of me.

Weird thought. Hell’s more of a location than a living thing. Unless it’s a living location.

You never know.

I heard my cell phone go off and picked it up on the first ring, then checked to see who was looking for me.

“Hey, Arianna. How’s it going?”
