Katie Kern
Essay #5

Men dying just to “get the job done.”
The Bush Administration just wants to get the job done but at the same time he is hurting people and their families. Families are waking up every morning to see three front-page stories on the local newspaper about men and women in the community getting killed in Iraq. Some men are just getting married and then getting blown to shreds. Sons and daughters are finding out that daddy is not coming home because he is dead.
In my opinion, Bush should have a different look about this situation. It is not about “getting the job done”, it is about protecting your troops from tradagies like dying. I understand that sometimes it might accidentally happen but, when you are waking up to a newspaper everyday that says “two more men have died due to being shot” gets a little bit ridiculous.
Another thing that really bothers me is that these poor men are just getting married and having to just leave to “get the job done” or these men who just have a new born baby at home, they are a family to. How would you like to grow up with no father figure in your life because he died in the war due to someone not caring about his family and just wanting the job done? I know I would not and I am pretty sure no one else would either.
So every year the number of troops that die increases due to someone who just wants to get the job done.
So, needless to say sometimes “getting the job done” is not good enough. The Bush Administration needs to take into consideration that there are families involved, Families that probably love those people more than anything in the world and they do get hurt.
So my point is, just because someone says” it is about getting the job done” does not mean everyone feels and thinks that way
