I had a rather up and down weekend. Saturday was a fun day, even though it was rainy. Leslie ended up joining me in my spring clothes shopping. We started in Shinjuku at Alta. We had takoyaki for lunch. I burnt my mouth while eating the takoyaki, like a boss. It wasn't pleasant, but I still managed to eat sakura mochi taiyaki for dessert. Then it was shopping time. I didn't find as much as I'd hoped for at Alta, this time around. There was a cute pair of shoes that I wanted, but they didn't have my size. After Alta, we went to the Shinjuku Closet Child, where I bought a cute Peace Now shirt. We also ended up going to Marui One, even though I wasn't sure I was going to buy anything there (cause it tends to be a bit pricier). Of course, I ended up buying something. I was browsing h.NAOTO (it just so happened that both h.NAOTO and IBI were working at the store that day) and found a really cute MINT NEKO jacket. I ended up buying it! I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can actually wear it. Leslie and I then ended up back in Ikebukuro, where we ate dinner at 80+1. I had a hot ham sandwich and it was delicious.
I was feeling a bit down on Sunday. I finished reading Tokyo Babylon in the morning and it didn't help my mood any. That kind of set the tone for the rest of the day. Leslie and I went to Harajuku, which was nice, but I just felt off most of the day. We checked out a bit of the Tokyo St. Patrick's Day Parade, which was somewhat amusing to see. Later in the day, we met up with Anna, Kate, and Kate's mom for dinner at Saizeriya, since Kate and her mom were visiting Tokyo. Not a bad day at all, but I still wasn't quite happy.
Today was better. I had the day off because it's Vernal Equinox Day. (Thank you, Japan.) I met up with Greta since Tuesday is one of her usual days off. Anna was going to originally join us, but she didn't get the details in time. Greta and I went to Sunshine City to find a place to eat lunch. We weren't in the mood for any heavy food, so we ended up going to a Korean restaurant and having bibimbap. We just wandered around Ikebukuro and browsed the usual stores after lunch. Later in the afternoon we stopped to have rose tea and sakura cake at Swallowtail White Rose. The cakes were so pretty and delicious! I prefer the atmosphere at 80+1 though.
Tomorrow night is the end of the year dinner for the English department. Apparently we're going to a nice Chinese restaurant. Then Friday is the closing ceremony for the school year. I didn't sign up for the end of the year party on Friday night because I'll already have gone to the other two dinners and I'd like to save a bit of money. Mostly, I'm just waiting for this weekend because Kiri is going to be visiting Tokyo for a couple days!
