This is the first entry I'm typing from my brand new laptop! (^_^) My other laptop had been giving me so many problems recently that Mom and Dad agreed to get me a new laptop as an early birthday/Christmas present. It's a Samsung Notebook. It's patterned so it looks like a dark brown wood grain, but it still has that very shiny laptop finish on the outside. It seems pretty nice so far (aside from the fact that I needed to find my power adapter to be able to plug it in), so I'm happy with it. The laptop actually arrived on Thursday, but I've been busy enough that I didn't have much of a chance to use it until today. I spent the better part of the day exporting and downloading files to my new laptop, so that everything is just the way I like it. Now, I just need to think of a name for my laptop. I named my previous laptop Veda (after the computer in Gundam 00), so I'll have to think of something else to call this one.

I had the day off today because it was Saitama Prefectural Day, meaning that it's just a holiday in Saitama. Thank god. I've been so tired. Besides the conference and the concert, I worked extra hours this week helping some of my students prepare for the Eiken (an English proficiency exam). I also had work on Saturday because we had a special day of classes, where for part of the day students' parents and prospective students could come visit the classes. I get tomorrow off too, to make up for the fact that I had to work on Saturday.

Yesterday was a fun day. meepalicious and I went to Akihabara and Ikebukuro. We started the day by meeting in Akiba and getting lunch at Saizeriya. We then browsed around all the usual geeky places, like Mandarake, Animate, Kotobukiya, and Toranoana. Of course, I ended up buying doujinshi. This time I bought 3 Tiger & Bunny, 1 Gundam 00, and 1 Saiyuki. I also got a cool phone chram of Haku from Spirited Away in his dragon form. Leslie and I also bought some macaroons on our way to the train station. I hadn't had macaroons before and they were delicious. Then, we went to Ikebukuro. We browsed the usual places for a bit and then went to buy HeatTech clothes at Uniqlo. I'm hoping that it'll help keep me warmer once it starts getting even colder here. (Curse your lack of central heating, Japan!)

I may or may not go somewhere tomorrow. It probably depends on how tired I am in the morning. It'd be a good day to go into Tokyo tomorrow because it's a weekday, so not as many people will be off of work and school. We'll see.
