O, Good Children,
Thank you for the many hugs you sent - or brought to me personally. My Sweetie ("Dad" to some of you) is in Baton Rouge, working for FEMA (a much maligned Federal Agency) and I am the Lone Parent at home, with NO back-up. It's a Tough Job, but not really too tough, because we are talking about Nancy and Muffin, so how tough can that be? Yeah.
And then there's Ned who has been working on his cobra project that was due Wednesday for two nights and not finished yet (Yay to Brave Muffin for helping him!). And Ned, who fell in the pond. And Ned with the dog-poopied shoes. And Ned who has lied twice about having had his bath. Ned, who has had a math paper to complete since Tuesday and has not finished. Ned, the child I find outside with his coat on the sidewalk instead of on him in 35 degree weather. And Ned whose teacher has called and written because he is misbehaving in school.
Any of you guys want to give me some insight into a 7-year-old boy's brain??? Such as it is...
So, no fun for Ned until the cobra project is done, the math is done, and so on, making me the Evil One Among Grandparents. Argh!
No matter - "the star rains its fire while the beautiful sing" - and the Beautiful would be you, O, Lovely Children, and thank you again for the hugs.
Love always from
Your Mama
