It aggravates me when people direct link, or don't know how to upload to their own server, so I decided to make a tutorial on how to use
PhotoBucket.com.
*If you know how to use PB and you see that I've left something out, plese let me know.
First, create an account at
PhotoBucket.com. Click "sign up free". They will explain what to do from that point.
Once you create an account, you will be presented with this page. Type the password you provided and click Login.
A new page will load and it will tell you that you are logged in.
Now here's when you are ready to add the picture. You MUST have the image that you want to upload saved to your computer as either a .jpg, .gif, .png, or .bmp., though LJ doesn't allow .bmp as a format for icons. Click Browse to begin.
A new window will pop up. Most likely, "My Documents" will be showing. Locate the place where your image is saved. I save my icons in a folder titled "icons" and then, for each icon journal or community I visit, I make a new folder. If I save icons from there, I put it in the folder with their journal or community's name. This is so I know who to credit when I use the icon.
Click on the picture that you want to upload. The name will show up in the "File Name" box. Click Open.
That window will close. Click Submit.
Your new image will upload a new page will load. It will tell you that your picture has been added.
Scroll all the way down and you will see your image with three links under it. The top link ("URL") is just a link (it will just show up as a link, not an image). But say you wanted to put that into a colorbar, you would use this link because, most likely, the first part (img src) is already there. The second link ("Tag") is for displaying a picture in a journal or on a website. I am using the "Tag" to display the images in this tutorial. The third link ("Img") is to display the image in a message board.
To upload more then one picture at a time, click the scroll bar titled "Submit Multiple Pictures". Then select how many pictures you would like to upload.
A new page will load with the amount of browse buttons and text boxes that you selected. Follow the same steps as above for each image.
*The Jason Mraz icon used in this example was made by
stormwindicons.

Feel free to share this, that's why I'm making it. I'm going to make it a public post so everyone has the opportunity to see it.
