Weekendness - in which I write too many long sentences

Oct 01, 2006 13:12

I went proper shopping for the first time in ages yesterday, and came home with Gosford Park, Bend it Like Beckham and Robbie Williams Live at Knebworth on DVD, that book about ships and dragons, Temeraire and a new, hip (I hope) red and white striped shirt. I would like to publicly thank nawl_v for being a faithful shopping companion as I ducked into ( Read more... )

*laugh* I do know about Passions. My mom watched it up about six months ago. Then she turned over to One Life To Live (which she used to catch on the 9pm showing on SoapNet). So I know quite a bit.

Charity left, Miguel followed her, Miguel came back (recast since Jesse was on Deseparate Housewives, I supposed), Endora created a mermaid Siren (no, really, that was her name), Kay and Fox were in love until Miguel came back, now Kay's wishywashying over who to marry. Siren went away, thank goodness. The old Fox (who ended up married to Theresa in real life) is now going to be on Smallville, I think, and he had been cast as Aquaman but that didn't get picked up after the WB and UPN created the CW.

Gwen apparently left Ethan when she finally realized that he was always going to love Theresa (and why, I'll never know, since she was such a little manipulative...well, you know) and put her first.

Fox and Fancy have another sibling, but I forgot her name. That's a crapload of kids in the Ivy-Sam combination: Ethan, Noah, Jessica (who married her pimp, by the way), Kay, Fox, Fancy, and unnamed. *blinks* Wow, I never realized that until now. Geesh!

Sheridan married Chris (who is involved somehow with Jessica's pimp husband) and Luis started liking Fancy. Fancy was Alistair's favorite (and I think old man might be dead, but I'm not sure) until she chose Noah. Then they broke up, that's when she started like Luis. Sheridan was more interesting when MacKenzie was on maternity leave for four months. Way more interesting.

Er, I don't know a lot about the rest. Oh!! Wait, the biggest news! Chad and Whitney aren't related. I don't know how since I don't watch, but I do know that. So they're back together.

Yeah, I think that's most of what I know recently. Save for Pilar getting shot (but living. *grumbles*(, and Paloma (Luis's baby sister) and Fancy joined the Police Academy. I think you were lucky enough to miss the whole Pilar's husband and Alistair's wife coming back and all crap. Go you. Wish I was lucky.

(Side note: every time I heard Harmony when I was in the HP fandom, I'd die laughing but I couldn't explain to people why if they'd never seen the show.)

You realise you just managed to summarise about 5 years of soap storylines into one comment? I didn't think that was possible! Bravo! And thanks!

OMG, so many bombshells! Chad and Whitney aren't related! Pilar got shot! Mermaids! Wowness.

Theresa really was a psycho. Did you ever see that website called Theresa Is A Psycho? It listed all the wacked-out crazy shit she'd ever done to get Ethan to fall in love with her. Hours of fun reading :p

Oh, no. I completely didn't get into the Sam/Ivy deal, or Julian/Eve/Eve's sister/TC/Rebecca bits because it was so ridiculous. Or the fact Theresa's married Alistair (though he's "dead" right now), Alistair's death, reappearance, tried to kill half of Harmony over some chalice, Beth being Alistair and Edna's kid, making Marty his grandkid either way (since he was Sheridan's)...uhm, more but I forget.

Let's see, there was crazylady that came back. Norma that worked with...either Edna or Tabby, I forget. Edna and Tabby lived together for awhile (which is a tad funny when you consider they both had kids by a Crane) when Edna and Beth's house was unliveable. Kay still lives with Edna, by the way. Oh! You missed the cartoon episode. They had a storybook plotline for Endora with Kay, Fox and Ivy. It was done in animation. So cute! Did you miss the monkey in love with Luis storylines?

It's very complicated. I don't watch it because of the stupid storylines (though, I shouldn't be surprised since it was created by the same guy that did Marlena's possession), so I can't remember much more. Brain sort of forgets for the sake of my sanity.

Oh, the bombshells were HUGE. You realize that Theresa has been a relationship with Alistair, Julian, and Ethan. Howicky is that? Talk about a generational gap there. It was a shocker to find out that Chad and Whitney aren't related. I think the writers had to paint themselves out of that corner. A lot of people were squicked out. Daytime audience =/= fanfic writers.

Theresa is a huge psycho. I could never figure out how Gwen was blamed for everything when Threresa caused most of it. I mean, seriously. She is the one that pushed Gwen and caused her to lose her baby (but it was okay when T took the place of G&E's surrogate, aborted that fetus when she was pregnant with both surrogate and T&E's baby) and kidnap Jane (T&E's). WTF? I just don't get it. There's a website for the crazy?? Coool! I never understood how she was on that show, and the *star* to boot, when she can't act either. There's a lack of range with her. It's nonexistant.

I think I covered all the major plot points, even if I didn't describe them, at lesat.

And you're welcome!

Hee hee. What's a little incest compared to the rampant witchcraft, demonic possession and other crazy crap that goes on in Harmony?

Theresa gets around. There's a word for girls like her.... PSYCHOS! :D Heh.

For fanficcers, that's a low priority, but I don't think the at-home moms think so. *grins* Or the grandma age, as my godmom is. I didn't like it but mostly because ick, they'd been setting that up for year. *shakes head* Daytime writers: thinking their audience is stupider than a rock.

I'd call her a streetwalker, but I don't think these people paid, so...
