Stuff and nonsense

Tired. Lack of sleep is catching up with me. Stupid ratings season. Yes, I am aware how fickle I am. I whine all summer long about crap tv programming, then when the good shows come on again I can't keep up with them all!

Lost tonight was a bit meh. Perhaps I should stop spoiling myself to increase the enjoyment of the surprises. And yet... no. I can't stand it. Must find out plot twists! At least there were polar bears in this one.

I've been meaning to say something for a while about the fasions this winter. I was in KMart last weekend and was astounded to see velvet. And frills. And CORDUROY. WTF? We're going from extreme boho/hippie summer to Ye Olde Victorian Quasi-Gothic in the space of 3 months??
I think I saw somewhere (telly?) that KMart (or was it Target?) is calling this look 'Edwardian Elegance'. I'm not sure whether to be happy about girly frills or scared of the velvet. Target's catalogue is less with the vintage and more with the boho/hippie thing except in heavier fabrics than summer. Hmm. I guess the good news is I can still wear peasant skirts to my heart's content right up until it gets really cold.

Tell you what though, there are going to be some fully sweet boots this winter. I covet.

*is scared of velvet*

Meanwhile, my next-to-be-married cousin, ie. the sister of the one who got married last weekend, just invited me to her hen's night. In Sydney. So, so tempting to try and get down there for the weekend, but it's March 18 - three days before U2. Could I spend that weekend in Sydney, have a day off work for U2, then go to a wedding the next weekend? In my current state of tiredness (and aparthy re weddings, blgh), it all sounds too much!
