Instead of researching my trade unionism essay, I wrote a poem inspired by it instead. Not great, but gets the message across. (I can't believe I have such a tight deadline for an essay and I'm not even working on it, loser.)
Thatcher's hangover's still going on
everyone's thinking what went wrong
she drank champagne all night long
and woke up this morning nearly gone
gone from this land's what the people want
gone from our memories, no settlement
take a Valium to numb the pain
of Maggie's hungry capitalist gain
the country suffers from her economy
that left me with no UB40
I paid my taxes worked down the mines
the coal's disappeared and so have the dimes
all I want is free education for my lad
instead of these southern cunts making him bad
our kids are greedy for the latest shoes,
don't wanna go to work just wanna hit snooze.
