USA, to absolutely no one's surprise, lost to the Wallabies in the rugby. All Blacks quite fortunately kicked French ass last night, which goes a long way towards making up for shock upsets of the French beating New Zealand in the last few world cups.

Alan brought home a crayfish for dinner, normally they cost $100/kg, so ours would have cost around $150... we got ours for $40 worth of beer. And mmmm it was damn tasty.

Gratch appears to have broken a tooth... keeping an eye on her to see if a vet visit is absolutely necessary. Might need to for a round of antibiotics or something. Also need to get her flea and worm treatment, it being springtime and all.

I finally have my engagement ring, of which my facebook friends have seen blurry pics of. Not that I didn't like wearing the ring that had been Alan's mum and grandmother's, although it was a tad small... it's also one the boys may want to use if/when they get engaged. This ring however I got to pick out and is exclusively mine mwahahahaha. I love it though it's a sapphire with two small diamonds on each side and then a bunch of tiny ones along the band of white gold, which is twisty. I will, however, need to get it re-sized as it is a tiny bit too loose. There should be more resistance to slide it over my knuckle.

Currently we are re-watching Firefly (omg so much love), and I'm also rereading Terry Pratchett's Wee Free Men and the next two Tiffany Aching books. Also need to find out if the fourth one is in paperback yet (I prefer paperback to hardcover, don't know why).

Speaking of books, gor anyone who hasn't read it, and loves a good in depth fantasy series, look up Elizabeth Moon's Deed of Paksenarrion novels. There's the original trilogy: Sheepfarmer's Daughter, Divided Allegiance, & Oath of Gold. Two prequels known as the Legacy of Gird: Surrender None & Liar's Oath. Then there's her newest set, Oath of Fealty, Kings of the North, and an as yet unnamed and unwritten third novel.

Also Daylight Savings just kicked in today which came as a great surprise... don't remember seeing a lot of ads leading up to it (saying check your smoke alarms) and if they mentioned on the news, I missed it.

Fin.

tv, books, madly deeply in love
