So, this sunday I was at ren faire, and John and I decided where were going to puck. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's like golf, but instead of a ball, you hit a fake stuffed rat. It's a lot of fun.
Last year, I was still heavy from the meds I was on. John and I went back to the puckers on sunday, and a woman came up to me. she gave me a funny look, and asked me if I was there last year. I replied that I was. She said she hoped that I wasn't offended, but that I was a lot heavier last year. Most of the people that I know form last year and years past have commented that. It made me feel really great :)
Now, I normally say that I'll post pics, but never get around to it, but I have pics now and here they are!
Here's John and I at the best boot store ever, Son of Sandler. It's where we both bought out faire boots.
Here's my sister Natalie enjoying some chocolate covered strawberries
Natalie, John and me posing before the 3:15 rat puck.
Me getting flogged by James.
His name is Emerys Fleet. He created rat pucking, and he is in charge of the championship. He's quite the character!
This shot is called the girly-man sissy-boy Australian Float with a Nordictrak. Which means, I can pick the rat up and take 3 steps. The guy in the picture is Bernard. He's nice. You can see everyone else's rats there, too. Hitting the castle is like getting it in the hole. Once everyone is in, the owner of the sand lets the kids at the faire destroy it. He's a nice old man :)
Everyone at faire is great! That's why I love it so much! It's hard to puck with all the costume stuff, though...
