WWE's live Summerslam PPV opened with The Miz's music. Miz appeared on-stage dressed in a tuxedo. Miz welcomed everyone to Summerslam before noting he is the host of the show. He hyped tonight's two Main Events - C.M. Punk vs. Brock Lesnar and John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title with Triple H as special referee.

Miz tried to kick things off, but Fandango's music interrupted. Fandango emerged on-stage to dance with Summer Rae in front of Miz, who sold annoyance with the interruption. "Really?" Miz muttered a few times. "Welcome to Summerslam!" Miz declared. WWE then faded to an old-school WWE graphic.

Backstage: The Miz brought in Menounos for an interview. Mixed reaction of indifference and light boos for Maria's presence. After Menounos talked, Fandango's music interrupted. Apparently FandangoRae are following around Miz tonight. Miz and Maria then busted out a Dancing with the Stars dance-set to upset FandangoRae.

4 -- NATALYA (w/Cameron and Naomi) vs. BRIE BELLA (w/Nikki Bella and Eva Marie)

Back in the arena, Hart music played to bring out Natalya along with Cameron & Naomi for Divas singles action. After the trio entered the ring, the Bellas were introduced along with Eva Marie. The Total Divas match started with some slaps and hurt feelings playing out in the ring. Meanwhile, the crowd tried to "take over" with chants for just about anything they could think of.

Natalya wanted the Sharpshooter, but Brie kicked her away and chaos broke out ringside. After order was restored, Natalya re-applied the Sharpshooter. This time, Brie was forced to tap out, giving Natalya the Total Divas win.

WINNER: Natalya via submission at 5:18. Is anyone really split-screening Total Divas and Summerslam later on? Didn't think so.

In-ring: Dolph Ziggler's music brought out Ziggler and Kaitlyn for the mixed tag buffer match in-between Punk-Lesnar and the WWE Title match. A.J. Lee, then Big E. Langston came out as the opposition for the Match That Doesn't Matter Since The Heels Got Their Comeuppance From The Oddities On Raw.

6 -- DOLPH ZIGGLER & KAITLYN vs. BIG E. LANGSTON & Divas champion A.J. LEE -- mixed tag match

Ziggler and Big E. quickly got at it, not wasting any time getting the match started. Big E. dominated early, but Ziggler fought back with a dropkick before tagging in Kaitlyn. This brought in A.J. Lee, who dominated Kaitlyn. WWE cut to a shot of the Doritos Jacked winner munching on some Doritos while sitting in front of the announce table.

Ziggler finally re-entered and delivered the Ten Elbows to Big E.'s chest for a two count. Ziggler then walked into a shoulderbreaker across Big E.'s knee for a two count when Kaitlyn broke up the pin. This brought over A.J. to dropkick Kaitlyn out of the ring. Chaos broke out in and out of the ring, then Big E. scored a nearfall with a hard clothesline to Ziggler.

Big E. dropped the strap to set up for the Big Ending, but Ziggler slipped out and nailed the Zig-Zag. Ziggler covered and it was good for the pin and the win. Cole said they got a little bit of revenge on A.J. and Big E. tonight.

WINNERS: Ziggler & Kaitlyn at 6:45. Team Zigs had to get this win after Natalya & Khali beat A.J. & Big E. Monday on Raw. But, Kaitlyn remains on the chase for A.J. since Ziggler got the pin in this match.

Backstage: The Miz tried to recap the event, but Fandango's music interrupted again. Fandango tried to introduce himself, but Miz left-arm clotheslined him. Miz then paraded over Fandango to close the bit.
