I still can't believe I'm officially done school...it definitely doesn't feel like I don't need to think about UofT for the next few months. I can't get totally out of school mode though cuz I start my summer OCAD course on the 26th so that isn't too far away.
Saw Iron Man tonight...Robert Downey Jr. was so perfect for that role they picked the perfect guy for that quick witty sarcasm. Iron Man is actually way cooler than I thought he was, like fuck I didn't know he could fly too! It's so weird cuz I was never into comic books themselves but I freakin love the characters man. I probably mentionned this sometime before but The Dark Knight is pretty much the movie event of my life. I finally got to see the latest preview tonight and I got shivers! Heath Ledger is unrecognizable in this movie, even his voice is as creepy as you would imagine the Joker to be, no wonder the role got to his head man, it's not easy to play a character like that. Summer '08 is a fuckin incredible movie summer....so yea The Dark Knight, Sex & the City, Speed Racer which just looks like it's gonna be visually spectacular...
Summer '08 is also gonna be a fuckin incredible concert summer as well...Radiohead twice within a two week span...and one of those times along with Rage AND NIN!! There are no words for how fulfilling these shows are gonna be. As it is Erykah Badu on Monday night inspired me to no end. I fuckin love that woman, I honestly wanna be her...or at least have the same commanding power on stage as she does. I'd never seen anything like it....everyone was on their feet...when she jumped down from the stage everyone down there got out of their seats and there was a mini-club scene goin on...she was singing and dancing and everyone was just partying with her. I wish more musicians were like that...but so much of the time, besides the actually physical barriers, there seems to be this other kind of barrier between you (the viewer) and them (the artist)...but the music is for the people and it was awesome to see them being able to directly interact with the artist during the performance in gratitude for the music they're receiving without ridiculous screaming and crying from the fans. Besides all that, the music sounded waaay better live than it does on the albums, a lot of the songs that are meh on the cds fully came to life on stage. It's definitely up there as one of the most entertaining and worthwhile shows I've ever seen...that reminds me, I wanna figure out how many shows I've seen since the Chilis way back when...hmm...
I've gotta get things in order and make some money. Anthropology is still running through my head. That course answered a lot of questions I've been pondering about for my years about why the world is the way it is...and confirmed a lot of the suspicions I've had. Despite the heaviness of the reading material I'm pretty happy I took that course. Problem is I won't be able to take anymore of those interesting by heavy classes next year because I'm gonna have 3 studio courses to deal with, my other courses have to be minimal maintenance in order for me to cope with it all =S. But fuck it I don't even have to think about that now...I just gotta make the most of this chill time.
Beginning with sleep, I gotta work at 9 in the a.m....blah!
