College update: I was rejected from Princeton and Yale. I’m a little upset, but at least everything is done now. It’s not so bad knowing that nearly everyone else was, too. Reinforcing the thought that happiness is based on relative position, not absolutes.
I’m having a Charlotte. Still not excited about the prospect of going to UVA, but I could always transfer. I will more likely just stay. My first thought when I got Yale’s letter was to apply mid-term next year, though they could stand not having me come begging on hands and knees, Please take me, I need brand-name validation.
I think I wrote about college in the last update, too. Well the last post that I actually wrote. Actually looking back on it I wrote about something else. But the stranglehold is over (or beginning, given your perspective), which is a relief.
While I’m at it I will summarize my life thus far: last Sunday was Dad’s 60th birthday. At least he is now well qualified for his AARP discounts. Annie was home last week, and we did grown-up college things like watch cartoons and bitch.
Anne and Mike are coming tonight, and are sleeping in my bed. I might have to have a sleepover (somewhere else).
Also, I am not pretentious. I drink tap water.
