Such a long day....

Nov 22, 2003 20:22

Friday I woke up at 7 AM from my 4.5 hour sleep. I drove back to Dover where my car finally got an inspection sticker. It's been without one since October 10. I got back to Poughkeepsie around 10:30 and was so awake and bored that I went in to work...on my day off. It was cool, though, because it was the day dedicated to revamping the Steel Plant Computer Labs. This led to free pizza.

Went to work at The Loft at 6:30. Sick of it All played really well, as did The Program. They are amazing. After work, though, I went into my boss's offive to get paid. He asks, "What, you're not sticking around?"
'huh?'
"We rented out the room. You need to do lights for the private party."
'Nobody said anything about that to me.'
"Dude, I need someone on Fridays who can work until 4 if he has to!"
'Mike, I can't do that. That's one of the reasons I don't do Thursdays and Saturdays anymore.'
"Wait, you can't do it? Tell you what, call me Monday, I need to get someone who can stay until 4."
'...'

Yeah. Fun. Usually if they need me to work later or fill in for someone, I get a call by Thursday at the latest. Why wasn't this the case last night, I ask? Hopefully I will keep my job. The worst part of it won't be losing the money, but having to pay to see shows again.

After that, I got home to learn that my friends all just had a party at my house, and had just left for the Diner. Damn. I got back in my car and went to The Farmhouse. Here I met up with Tom, Brick, and Tall Ryan. It was an alright time, but only if I was drinking. I wasn't. Well enough, though, as I had plans to meet Abby in her room at 1. I got there a little early and stayed there until 4-something AM. I got to talk to Abby's friend Alex for a while. She seems like a lot of fun when she's not overloaded with schoolwork. I also got to meet Abby's roommate, AnneMarie. She was really funny. She loves Canada, too.

I, at this point was quite famished. I said my goodbyes and set off in search of food. Abby wanted to come too. We made it to The Palace Diner a little before 5AM. One meal later, we came back to my house. Surely there would be something to do this early in the morning. Wrong.

We ended up talking until about 7. Finally, the sun was out far too much for me to stay awake. Man that was a long day.

I have decided that Abby is the most fun girl I have ever met. Hanging out with her is never dull. The only bad thing about being around her is that we eventually have to say goodbye. Today, for example: I set my alarm for 2 PM. We woke up then, but ended up lounging around my room until 6.

Aside from my boss being a jerk, This post = great, great times.

relationship, shows, diner, party, work
