My Favorite Night

Jan 31, 2008 22:30

Last night I came home from work.
I ate lunch.
I went to sleep at 6:45PM.

It was great! I guess it's mainly because I was run down from lack of sleep (and a regular diet of alcohol), but yesterday I really felt like a poorly woven bag of shit. I actually had to get off of the morning train at Union Square Station, take off my jacket and headphones, and just sit on a bench in Union Square and hang my head until I felt better. I thought I was going to vomit up my breakfast and faint at the same exact time. While that would have been embarassingly hillarious, I opted to be late for work instead. After about twenty minutes of sweating for no reason on this bench in the most crowded subway station on the (L) line, I felt well enough to put my jacket back on and resume my commute.

Throughout the whole day of work, I debated going home and recovering - including skipping lunch just to avoid walking around any more than I had to. For this reason, and the next, I declare my meal at 6:30PM to be lunch. At 7:45PM my alarm woke me from my nap long enough to say, "Nah. I'm not going to try to go out for trivia tonight." At 9:30, my phone was ringing. Parents calling to say hello.

After this brief, groggy phone call, I was fairly awake. Not feeling much like thinking, it had to be lay on the couch and watch something time. Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman it was! During the movie, I mixed up another quick meal. After the credits, I returned to bed.

Today I felt better than I have in months. I was so happy and energetic. Thank you, Zatoichi!
