Failure to (PS3) Launch
Yeah. Last night resulted in defeat.
If the weather was nicer, I'd be a lot more pissed. We got to Best Buy, to see a strip of sidewalk covered in tents. I didn't think Best Buy would allow tents; this assumption was our downfall. 28 Consoles available, 35+ people in line. Crap.
Our only hope was that someone would say, "I can't do this!" and leave the line. Yeah right...they had tents and were prepared to stick out out through the horrible weather.
We went to Sears after that, only to find that there were TWO consoles available, and two highschool kids that had been waiting since 10 AM. Worse, they were only 20GB consoles, and it was a forced bundle - you had to buy 2 launch titles.
WalMart next. 6 consoles, 9 buyers sitting comfortably in lawn chairs under the awning by the entrance.
Called Poughkeepsie stores from the road, and they all hosted even larger lines than Connecticut. Called it quits, and went home.
Today I went to pick up my glasses on lunchbreak. I can't believe how bad my vision was. Now it's an absurd difference to take them off. I am noticing that there's detailed textures in real life. WHO KNEW?!
