Unfortunately, Semagic does not connect from work, so I am forced to use the Browser LJ-post entry form. It's pretty f'n lame. This is why I do not post often, any more.
Over the weekend I hopped a plane down to Raleigh, NC. It was the first time I had met many of the people I've been playing MMOs with for over a year - some two years. it was a fricking blast, though a lot of it was spent playing Warcraft III mods (Tower Defence and DOTA). There was DOA on Xbox for those who didn't like WC3. Because of the gaming, though, there was minimal drinking and socializing happenning. It's a shame, really. When it was "Gather in the kitchen for funny story time" it really was a blast.
When I returned it was halloween. Despite Mike and Jimmyen's agreement that only douchebags dress as Superman, I sort of did. I was Clark Kent (Similar to THIS COSTUME. I had to pin the shirt/jacket open revealing part of the "S" so that people would stop asking me what my costume was. The general agreement was, though, that with my hair parted as it was, and the CK glasses on, that I actually did look the part. Yeah, whatever, crazy teacher ladies. Since I work at a school, it is completely acceptable, and even encouraged to dress up for Halloween. It was not until a bit through the day that I realized the appropriate-ness of being a superhero who works I.T. I am oft known to swoop in, save the day, and leave thanklessly. [/conceit]
