don't you worry, there's still time

This week has been what summer is all about.

Wednesday was experimentational. (ed. note: I don't think that's a word. If someone would like to correct me, please feel free to do so.) I went down to our pool and "tanned" for about an hour and a half. I was extremely surprised to find that I actually got tan/pink. It doesn't make sense to me how I can spend 90 minutes outside in NC and turn red, when I can spend 80 hours outside in France and not even get a farmer's tan or anything, whatsoever. Even on the beach. But I'm not complaining.

Bingalicious got back Wednesday so we went to Cream and Bean to indulge ourselves. I think that's the only time I've ever been in her car, so it was pretty sweet. We pissed off the guy behind the counter though, I think. But he was all hxcscene/metro, so it was all good in my book. And we visited Banane.

Yesterday, Bing, Jess, her sister and mother and I invaded the Mills of Concord. I never realized how cheap stuff is up there. But alas! I found the Guess? Outlet! I had been to the one in Williamsburg, and had fallen in LOVE with this GORGEOUS white skirt, but they only had smalls and larges. And the first thing I saw when I walked in at Concord...a medium. I tried it on and was (no joke) dancing around the store with excitement over this thing. It's beautiful and flouncy and wonderful feeling. I keep trying to take pictures of it, but they do it no justice. So I experienced the joy of withdrawing cash from the ATM and buying myself an outfit (EXTREME joy, in case you were wondering).

Then we had the inauguration of my house as a poker night setting. It actually went quite wonderfully, aside from the fact that none of us were in the mood for poker. Jess, Sarah, Lukens, and Lauren all ended up spending the night as well. I just can't explain the ecstasy involved in reunions such as these. (And for once, I don't actually mean the drug. Although I think Sarah may have been trippin'.)

Last night, we had expressive art time. If you would like to see my expressive art, please ask, as I do not feel it is appropriate to share with everyone here on LJ. It is rated G, but as you may have inferred, expressive art time involves a mass expression of very personal emotions, some of which I do not feel a couple of people here should be exposed to. Yeah. So ask. =)

This morning we woke up...or I suppose, this afternoon we woke up, with a hankering for McChicken. So we went to satisfy our hankering. Jess and I returned to the house to watch StripSearch and some random MusicMatch channels, accompanied by some grooving as necessary. We also played with my psycho-pup.

Worked out, cleaned up, and went out with the mother for some chow and some more reading material. I have been a reading MACHINE this summer. Everyone's borrowing my books now, instead of the other way around. And that makes me very happy.

As my expressive art has shown, things are not developing as wonderfully as I might have hoped. I'm not okay with it, but I guess I'm dealing with it. *sigh* Je n'aime pas le coeur.
