Of course I want to take this up... But, erm, does it *have* to be done in that amazing paint programme? I really cannot draw with a mouse - but of course if it's a requirement I will be obliged to try it :-).

Karina, honestly: I am a fan of your art. Is there humour in *everything* you do? It was great watching this!

You new avatar is ready, by the way. But maybe I should withhold it until after the contest :-)...

I started to reply, then clicked "post comment" before I was finished, so I had to delete and start over.

Anyway, as I was saying, yes, I think everyone should submit their entries using the same format, because half the fun is watching the paintings draw themselves. :-D

Ooh! I can't wait to see the new avatar! Please send it soon - don't keep me in suspense! And I'm glad you're taking up my silly challenge!

The formula is really interesting - I enjoy seeing how people *start* a painting and how it develops. This site is great!
I had a look at the gallery and there are some really splendid things in there... I don't think I'll ever manage something decent with those colours though :-).

Erm, the avatar. It needs scanning, then you can have it right away...

That is truly amazing! And it serves as an art lesson to see how a real artist begins her work. From the first few strokes, I had guessed you were drawing Prongs! But then ears and antlers suddenly changed magnificently into Snape's scowl! This is going to be fun!

Oh goody, I really should be getting some more work done, but seeing as my paint stuff appears to have Verwandlung-like qualities (Antlers To Scowl, yay!), I want to do some more of *that* instead. It's magic! :-)

Oh dear oh dear, what have you started?!

Oh and please don't take 'lessons' from me. I'm sure I'm setting a very bad example.

Thanks. She's very inspiring and brings out the silliest in me - AT LAST :-).

Yes, I agree she would be a much more qualified judge, but since the main purpose of the contest is to make me laugh, I get to be the judge! Besides, if she were a judge, then she would be disqualified from entering and we would be denied these delicious glimpses of her talent.

You know, maybe I'd better be a judge anyway - my stuff just isn't funny. I wish I could enter that avatar into the contest :-).

Anyway: here is my first try at Mona Snape (= vain attempt at fun); the second isn't funny at all. Ugh. But I'm not giving up yet!

When I think of the serious pursuits this is keeping you from, I feel almost guilty. Almost.

Both are fabulous. AND funny. There's something so wacky about watching a painting materialize before one's eyes. I wish they could be printed out. I'm not sure if it can be done, but I'm still trying to figure it out.

Amazing, Sigune! Snape's scowl at wearing the pineapple hat is humourous. The portrait is well done as well! The art pad thing is so fun! I let my child draw on it last night!

It just doesn't look like it should, and I much prefer pencils.
But I do agree it's great fun :-)...
