I think I finally understand why things never worked out with us -- because loving someone unconditionally isn't easy all the time, it's a conscious decision that you make every day when you wake up in the morning. real love may not always be about butterflies or that electricity you feel the first time you kiss that person, but it is about realizing every moment that you're awake that you're making a CHOICE to love that person, whether the times you spend together are good or bad. you have to want things to work all the time, even when you're fighting like mad and wishing the other person didn't exist. because even when you're begging to be done with it, at the end of the day, there's no one else you'd rather spend your time arguing with. there's no one else you'd want to sacrifice more for. I make that decision without hesitation, but you are the one who faltered.
