sometimes i fantasize about not punctuating every sentence with some variant of "fuck" but then again fuck that noise. friday evening started awkwardly but concluded with my being dragged out of the pit where i had been wholeheartedly hardcore dancing to the most amazing iron maiden cover band i've ever seen; anarchist folk-hero ryan harvey interrupted our epic tomfoolery to inform me that the lead singer is a middle school science teacher. seriously, most amazing science teacher ever, and who wouldn't kill to see their staid, button-down science teacher donning a wig and screaming out "run for the hills"? saturday morning we pilfered a whole re-usable canvas grocery bag of snacks for the bookfaire; hella intense faces and conversations in passing with folks i really and truly love but somehow never have the time for. i can't believe anyone puts up with my shit and won't you please take me home. intense and meaningul discussions in an environment where they could happen every five minutes are overwhelming and sort of like speed-dating. i bet that shit is totally draining and i also blame san francisco at least in part. tall buildings interrupting the sky and cars filthying up a good sea breeze so it just makes you feel cold. fucking forest kids following me around the bookfaire trying to holla. more and more i turn every conversation to canada and how amazing it's going to be and i'm sorry if you're jealous but we'll be back when we're back. the only exception is stascha; i want to tie our dreads together so we can always be there to whisper reassuringly to each other.
