Hyperion Christmas party
The Christmas party was a long but very successful event. Dylan and Taylor arrived early to help set things up. I had a feeling that Connor wouldn't be attending and it's probably for the best. The hotel was pretty full once everyone arrived. Oz and his band agreed to play for the party and Rhia and Preach arrived early to help set up the decorations. The caterers that Danny supplied probably didn't realize what they were getting into once they had to deal with Dylan and Rhia, but I'm pretty sure no one got hurt.
Mike and Brooke arrived in costume and I have to admit, Brooke makes one very gorgeous Mrs. Clause. At least I caught Faith checking her out too. Mike was a good sport about being Santa and his kids were excited to see Matt, Taylor, Donkey and Lorne again. Donkey and Lorne helped by playing elves and I think Donkey finally realizes I'm not Shrek.
Cordelia was the perfect hostess. She really did an amazing job getting everything organized and decorated. Gunn and I helped out with some of the decorating and Dylan brought child safety locks for our offices. Fred and Wesley were really happy to see the child locks. I don't know why they call them child locks though. Taylor, Luke and Mandy had no problem with them, but I couldn't get into my own office. Taylor had to open the door for me.
Once the kids started to arrive, Danny, Starr, Gia, Destiny, Rhia's cousin Alex, and Galen joined them and helped to entertain the kids. Taylor spent a lot of time hanging out with me. I can't explain how much I love being a grandfather. All of the kids at the party had a really good time and it was nice to be able to help them have a good holiday. Once the kids left, I handed out the gifts for Taylor, Dylan and their friends. I told Taylor he could wait to open them at Christmas if he wanted and he said he wanted me to see him open his presents. Dylan had his video camera (it was a gift that Faith and I decided to get for him) and he taped Taylor opening the gifts and promised to send a copy of the tape over to us. He even taped the party and promised Brooke and Danny copies of Mike as Santa Clause.
I think the biggest Christmas miracle was the fact no one heard Danny utter a single curse word during the entire event. Amazing.
