I feel like such an idiot. I just got into a bad car wreck, my car is driveable but needs serious work and I have no idea what I'm going to do about money. Chad's car is broken down back in Dallas, I have tuition payments due in a WEEK, just barely have a job, and now, this car thing.

I was at a four way stop, and had been waiting for like five minutes to get a chance to go, I looked over, saw a truck what felt like far enough away with it's blinker on - so I thought he would turn and have to slow down. I tried to quickly get through the intersection, and failed miserably, as he side-swiped my little hyundai with his huge f250 pulling a trailer behind it.

I am very lucky in one sense - that I'm alive. thank GOD my a/c wasn't working and I had the windows down, because the glass would have cut my face up! The backseat window got busted in and I have a few little cuts on my back now from it, but nothing major.

I was shaking uncontrollably when it happened, tried to open my door, realized I couldn't, and heard a voice - "ARE YOU OKAY???" - this large man, the driver of the other car was standing over me, and I stumbled out the passenger's side. He began yelling, "Didn't you see me!?!?" and I began shaking more and just tried to mutter out "I dunno, I dunno" and his eyes softened and the nice man inside him came through, he started saying, "oh, honey, you're okay! you're okay! calm down, breathe, it's okay!"

I called my parents who were suprisingly calm, called the police because I wasn't sure if I could move my car, and called Chad who luckily was within walking distance. He suddenly appeared and I tried to calm down but was still shaking uncontrollably as I tried to find my insurance card.

The man told me he closed his eyes right after it happened, scared he'd look up and see a bloody body in front of him - he said he was happy I was okay, and very lucky, which I definately agree with.

The cop wrote me a ticket for "not yielding properly" which okay, I'll agree with, damn being inpatient. :) lol. He also gave me a ticket for not having the "proper" insurance card with me, but I can fight that one because the "proper" one is at home. The guy's wife arrived and took one look at my car and was like, "oh my God, where is she? is she ok?" and saw me and was like, "oh honey!" and gave me a hug. Thank God they were so nice.

It's amazing, my car, which looks folded in half now, did very little damage to his truck, which only had slight bumper damage that is barely noticeable.

All in all I am lucky, just stressed to no end about money, and praying I won't hurt more in the morning.
