And thus ends wedding number two... one more to attend, this one being the one I get to stand in.
So my cousin got married today. They were joking that the ceremony was "Catholic Lite" as they didn't do mass along with it. Can't say I was terribly upset by this. Poor Jamie and her husband-to-be got to face all the gathered well-wishers the entire time, but at least we got to see their faces as they said their vows. This time I was smart and left Deliah with a sitter (thank you so much father! Lifesaver!) so this time it wasn't me wrangling the screaming child as they tried to read 1st Corinthians... I think that happens at every wedding. I'll wait to pass judgment until after Den and Pauline's.
And zomg the reception! There were easily 200 people there... and the food was excellent... and there was an open bar... and tons of kids for Deliah to chase around and play with. Of all the variety of food there was to eat, the only thing she snubbed was the piece of yellow squash in the mixed vegetables. That means she ate; bread, salad, fruit salad, vegetables, pasta primavera, potatoes and ham. And for those of you who know how much she likes ham... she ate pasta and salad before she ate ham. I was amazed. She easily ate half of the food I'd taken for myself.
On top of everything, Deliah was practicing becoming a heart-breaker. Once she got used to the fact that there were so damn many strangers around she started playing with the other kids, most of them being older than her. I saw her working her stuff... dropping a sippy cup so a boy would pick it up and hand it back, getting them to sit next to her on a step, giving the boys hugs so the adults could take pictures... Yes, I am raising a flirt. I have come to terms with this. And it's so frickin' adorable! On a different note, she was starting to learn how to play tag... at least the run-up-and-touch-someone-then-run-away aspect of it. She didn't understand about "it" but that didn't matter. Toddlers don't need rules to play.
In other news, between the ceremony and the reception, I got my hair cut. I have layers! Zomg, I love this cut so much! It's still long, but... there's SHAPE to my hair! It hasn't looked this nice in years and years and years!
There was more I wanted to say, but I can't remember. Perhaps I will later and return, thus further ruining my one-post-a-month schedule.
