Undying Love
By: Ethan Schutt
Your love is like a summer rose in bloom,
More beautiful the other flower's yield.
As if from death it rises from the tomb;
It stands alone like moonlight o'er the field.
It's rooted in my heart in fertile ground.
It needs but space and time in which to grow.
With all these things our love can't but abound,
Although the winds may knock it to and fro'.
Over the years our love it must grow strong.
It will be tested but it will remain.
The rose will be as bright as one new morn'.
Our love will be so pure without a stain.
Though we may die, the rose will be unchanged.
The seeds we planted last and stay unaged.
