So, the people who push papers in Ireland are actually *dumber* than the ones who do it in the states and I'm having to do extra work because of these idiots. They are, as Colm puts it, as shower of cunts. (Disturbing thought) No work visa til we get things sorted and because my 3.1 GPA suddenly became a low B-, I get to write a qualifying paper. Of course, for it to be the .1 higher on the irish system that it needed to be for their satisfaction, I would have had to have had over a 3.5. If they don't get things sorted, I'll be finding a good lawyer somewhere in Atlanta and informing just how many Euros worth of inconvenience I had to deal with. However, I'm working on a qualifying paper that would render my grades irrelevent, which will be evaluated by the professor who offered me a place, so I think that things should get sorted and then I'll generally be a much less angry person.
So, stupid paper problems aside, things are ok. I've just gotten done at the farmers' market, where crusty Irish farmers hawk potatoes for much cheaper than the grocery stores do. Colm got me a bike this week, and I finally got a bank account set up here so that my money will quit going away for nothing. (Exchange rates keep getting worse...1.30 to the euro...ick!) Hopefully I'll get my paper done this week and be able to get everything sorted by next week and all will be ok.
Speaking of which, I need to be getting to work on that paper, so thats it for my update!
