D is in fact sitting on a chair, brooding as usual. Although initially injured, he has long since healed, and has discovered that his prison has gotten a lot smaller, unless he wants to roam collapsed ruins.

She squints and can make out his shape. Sonia moves closer.

"Is there any more light in this room? We need to talk." No need for small talk, really.

He pulls out a small lantern and flicks a switch on it. He'd been conserving fuel for when he got back home, but that seems distant and far away now.
