I'm only catching up with the show, for Brooke and Dan's storyline's. Believe me, they're the most interesting. Yeah, I know what you mean, it's irritating that MS would make Brooke LP's biggest cheerleader after they hurt her so badly and then she would be Peyton's matron of honor but when Brooke gets married she can't even bother to be there or even call her. Whatever, show. Just...whatever.
I know, I definitely agree. It's sad that they had to alter the beautiful BL relationship that they spent years pour so much soul and beauty into, just to endgame everything with Peyton and write BL in such a way that even if they did end up together it really wouldn't be about the love or the family that Brooke dreamed of having with him and more about their careers and being away from each other a greater portion of the time.
S5, in a lot of ways was the AU dream that I kinda had and it was the season that sort gave me hope for these two, because I really wanted it to be Brooke that Lucas was calling from the airport. But, I loved the fact that he chose to be there in her life and that she was able to just let him be there for her to support her and just be her friend. It showed how far they had come and just how much they loved each other, a testament to what the other meant in their life even if they weren't really together.
See, in my eyes, Peyton was always the weaker one that needed to be saved. And Brooke, while she wanted to be saved, she really was the one who doing the saving whether it was herself, Lucas, Rachel, Angie, Peyton, or anyone else for that matter. And it was so amazing to see Lucas acknowledge that.
Haha, well ya know, I said at the end there's an alternate universe where those two do end up together after Peyton's death when Lucas comes back to Tree Hill with his daughter and their two sons. He and Brooke slowly gravitate back towards each other and then one thing leads to another and they're are finally able to be together again. :)
