Hard Drive in my main bit it a couple days ago, and I just gone through the exceedingly unpleasant process or trying to extract data from a disk which I can only assume is being torn to shreds by an errant connector or something every time it spins. The only survivors were my school papers, and a single Andrew Bird cd. Tough break big guy. On the bright side, the good people at seagate will be giving me a free one to replace it, assuming I haven't accidentally exposed it to 150Gs of force somewhere along the shipping process. Ah the joys of home building. Really makes me want to go build other things though. Like a car, or a house or something that requires a rivet gun to do properly. Fixing things gives a strange sort of life affirmation. A short stretch of time with a singularly definable purpose to it.

Side note of possible interest: I fear our dear friend facebook has finally evolved beyond the point where I can reasonably and comfortably tolerate it. The writhing evil mass just below the surface has finally come to outweigh the potential benefit as an informational tool or what have you. I therefore propose a group of marginally competent programmers should assemble and rewrite the facebook code to return it to its original functionality, as per years 1 and 2. Make it a college thing again. Not another myspace. If I wanted myspace...I'd have signed up. I personally lack the talents to pull off such a feat. But if anyone knows someone who would be interested, internet fame is just around the corner.
