HAPPY CNY! :D man, food is really making me broke this month. went out again tonight with some cell group ppl for chinese food. oh well, it's CNY, so reunion dinner (in some form) is a must-have. we spent 1 hour waiting for ppl to come/order, 1 hour to eat, & another hour talking about random stuff (90% of which was food XD). haha. i found my chicken twin - Joyce! we both lurve chicken & mango etc., hate durian, & like washing the dishes. haha, TWEENIES! i am a retard.
if anything, the whole EDC fiasco made me realize that i haven't heard from/seen Ceci in a long time. i mean, i've been following her career ever since she came out, but she kind of disappeared after giving birth last year. so i went to look up pix/videos of her on AF/youtube. found the making of her first MV, back in 1999. seeing how different she was back then kind of made me go O____o, but there was something very poignant about it. so i took some screencaps:
oh my goodness. what innocence. she's one of those celebrities who have really grown up right in front of the camera. when she first came out, they dubbed her "the face of the millennium." not hard to see why, as she was/is very, very, extremely good-looking (i guess being 1/4 British helps). naturally, they portrayed her as an innocent angel, which was probably why her popularity sky-rocketed the instant she came out. i was about 11 then, & i remember seeing her face in the newspapers every single day. even my parents complimented her on her looks, & they NEVER think anyone is good-looking. O_o anyway, it was probably a good thing that she got rid of her angelic image pretty fast, or else she might be in the same situation as Gillian right now (= not good at all). i think everyone remembers the years when the press gave her a hard time for becoming wilder & more rebellious. but who would have thought that the face of the moment in 1999 would be caught in such a scandal less than 10 years later? sigh. but wtv. despite going through ups & downs over all these years, i don't think she has compromised the person who she is, & that's what really matters.
in other words, i couldn't give two shits about the so-called scandal. now that it appears that EDC collects explicit pictures of everyone & their mothers, it has become very, very boring. i hope Ceci (& Gillian etc.) prevail, & EDC disappears off the face of the earth. forever. the end.
