Well, that was easy. Probably easier than it should have been. Maybe I pulled one too many strings, especially by getting us a room at a five star hotel, but this is our first vacation together. We'll remember it for the rest of our lives. I think Sam and I would be happier remembering it as a good experience, instead of thinking back and

"They should be makin' em like this in our time."
"Make what?" I looked over, and saw what Joe was playing with. I think Carly would be a bit upset if she saw him with that. He just had to find the very tiny underwear. And I just had to have to see it because he found it.
I don't mind that my brother and Carly have sex. As long as I can't hear it, or don't have to see any of it, or anything related to it. It's just a little gross.
"What is this used for?"
"That's..." I took it from him carefully, not wanting to be rude to him, and then held it away from me. She could have been in these recently. Ew. "That would be Carly's."
I took it into the laundry room and dropped it in the dirty clothes, then headed back in. "Sorry, she just wouldn't want to see you holding that when she comes back out."
There's only been one really loud muffled yelling noise, so I'll assume it's not going too bad.
"They'll be out in a minute, they just have to argue."
Reply
"Makin' what?" What's that little black thing supposed t'be used for? Not much of a rag, now is it? Hardly worth any real use, as far as I can tell.
"Make what?"
"What is this used for?"
I'd like t'know too. Looks like it stretches. What's the point of that now?
"That's... That would be Carly's."
By the look on her face, and by the way she's holdin' it... Oh, so that's what it is? They got tiny after a while. What's the point of still wearin' 'em if they get that small?
Not that I've seen much of women's underwear, but just the same, that's odd.
"Sorry, she just wouldn't want to see you holding that when she comes back out."
Holdin' somethin' like that's par for the course with Joe, but usually they're more than pleased t'let him have 'em. I guess Carly's faithful to her fella.
Wonder if he's faithful to her...
"They'll be out in a minute, they just have to argue."
"They argue much?" Perfectly innocent question. I did hear a little bit of shoutin' a moment ago, so I'm curious.

I wish Miss Arianna'd answer my question. Sayin' its Carly's could mean its just about anythin', couldn't it? An' lookin' at all the things her and her man have acquired in their time, it seems to me that the purpose of such a small piece of fabric could be lost on me. They probably use it to clean that box across from the seat I'm sittin' in.
An' now its bein' taken from me. Hmm. The only thing I've ever had a woman take from me before was her unmentionables, and she kindly gave 'em back when I told her how lovely she was.
"Sorry, she just wouldn't want to see you holding that when she comes back out."
Oh, so that's what they are afterall?
"I apologize, I didn't recognize 'em. They look quite different in our time." They mustn't cover very much. I don't see if there's any point of puttin' em on in the first place if they're so small. Seems to me, a woman would do just as fine without.
Course I think that bout the women in my time, too.
"They'll be out in a minute, they just have to argue."
"They argue much?"
Guess that means Ned found one he's interested in.
"I think they're arguin' over us."
Reply
"It depends on the day they're having, really." Why is Ned suddenly so interested in them? He's not looking to get with Carly, is he? It's going to be harder to make this work if he's interested in Carly.
"I think they're arguin' over us."
"You're just the most recent subject, don't worry about it."
And they're not going to get hell for what I did. But I stand by it anyway. Because of the incredible pretty who called me an angel.
Okay, the door's opening. My brother is coming out, and he looks... Sort of alright. He's not going to start anything right now, he's going to hold off a bit. I wonder if that's just contained anger, or Carly just really did me a favor.
"So."

What! Why?
I strongly disagree with this solution. We should be keeping both of them here. They're outlaws, they can share a bedroom. Its probably nothing new to them, and our guest room is a lot nicer than anything they would have ever slept in, so why not? Let's not break up the band. They'd be so loney without each other unless Ned stayed here alone and I was forced to keep him company that it doesn't make sense to split up the outlaws. And need I remind Sam that Arianna disobeyed him by doing this? She doesn't deserve to get to keep the cute one! We shouldn't reward her for pulling this.
This isn't fair. He's only doing it because I was looking at Ned and Arianna was looking at Joe, and he wants to see me suffer. That's it. I bet Sam is still bitter over the whole 'dying thing' too. Like I haven't already tried going out of my way to make it up to him. He said he didn't want me to do that, so I stopped.
But I gave a damn good effort. Sam not liking it was his own fault.
I sighed and walked out after Sam, trying not to pout over the whole thing. Its stupid how he's making a big deal out of this. Ned and Joe aren't going to appreciate getting split up. We should be catering to their needs, they won't be here for very long
"So."
"If its alright with you guys, Joe, you're going to stay here. And Ned, you're going to stay at Arianna's."
I should have lied and reversed it.
Damn my boyfriend. My damn boyfriend!

Sounds like they're not very happy together. Havin' seen Carly's undergarments I'd expect the man to be walking on air. If he only knew what men have to get through in my time, well, he'd be seein' things much differently, I'd imagine. You get one of the more proper respectable women, and removin' their clothes takes more time than winnin' em over in the first place. Sam has it nice and simple with her, its a pity they're fightin' over us, no matter how much enjoyment Ned seems to be takin' from the whole thing. I don't picture Sam doing much to return his desire. Not if he's seen his lady in those.
Ned's goin' to get us in trouble again. Let's hope it doesn't go the way of our last experience with one of his fellas. The chasin' and carryin' on was hard to bear. I never saw a woman so scorned.
"So."
Here it is. The decision.
"If its alright with you guys, Joe, you're going to stay here. And Ned, you're going to stay at Arianna's."
Guess Carly talked him into it after all. Its funny though, the way we've been split. I doubt it'll be too difficult for either of us to get into contact with one another. The walk wasn't much. We could do it a couple times a day if necessary. And stayin' with the two of em should be interestin'. Maybe I'll get a look at Carly in her lace if I play my cards the way she likes. Or if Ned prefers, he can take Sam, and I'll see what can be done for the ladies.
"Alright. Thank you both. You have a lovely home."

Three, two, one...
"What?"
I think she'd be pitching a lot bigger a fit if it wasn't in front of Joe. I don't care, this is how it's going to be. It's going to be interesting enough with the reputation Joe's got with women, making sure he stays away from my girlfriend. He doesn't look like the 'respecting a relationship' type.
So I'm going to have to be careful with this until I can get them sent back. Which also means making sure he's not alone with Arianna at all costs, because my sister just would try to lose her viriginity to a historical figure.
They're both going to hate me. Carly because I'm not willing to let her step outside of being faithful even if it's just once, and Arianna because I won't let her be alone with a guy who clearly will take just about any woman who's pretty.
What the hell happened to her being oh so freakin' into Dan?
"Alright. Thank you both. You have a lovely home."
"No problem. Arianna, I need to talk to you." And just because I'm that nice, it won't be in front of her new friends. "In the hallway. Now, please." I don't like the idea of leaving Carly alone, because she's ten times as bad as Arianna could ever be, but I'm trusting her.
"Fine, fine."
"Thanks." I walked out into the hallway, shut the door behind myself, and as I turned to face her, the first words out of my mouth were unavoidable. "What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you listen to anything I say?"
Reply
Why can't I have him? I'm legal. Plenty of girls my age have lost their viriginity ten times over, and Dan doesn't remotely like me as much as I like him, and if he does someone hasn't been telling me something, so that isn't going to happening anytime soon.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you listen to anything I say?"
"I heard everything you said. I just thought it was stupid." I folded my arms and glared. "Why can't you let me have this?"
"Arianna, he's dead in our time. Do you comprehend that? There won't be anything between you guys. And he has to go back eventually."
"Who said I wanted there to be anything?" It would have been nice, but I'm not so dense I couldn't realize that. "And who said I was going to do what you're clearly thinking I'm going to do anyway?" I was just thinking about it. Mostly.
And even if I had planned to make good on it, what business is it of his?
"Because I know you. They're going to go back, Arianna. They can stay here for a while, but they're not staying. This isn't their time, and they've got a whole history of their own to play out."
"I know."
"Then what the hell did you pull this for?"
"Because!"
Reply
"So."
"If its alright with you guys, Joe, you're going to stay here. And Ned, you're going to stay at Arianna's."
"What?"
That's what I was thinkin'. What am I goin' with Arianna for? She's not the one I'm interested in gettin' along far better with Joe. They should be goin' t'her place, and whatever happens from there, happens.
Looks as though the brother's out to be protective of her. I suppose I can understand that. I'd feel the same if one of my sisters were givin' such looks to a man they hardly knew. But even then, if they were as old as I think Arianna is, I'd respect it.
Just as long as they were sure of themselves, so no serious mistakes were made.
"Alright. Thank you both. You have a lovely home."
"No problem. Arianna, I need to talk to you."
"Fine, fine."
He's goin' for round two with these arguments. Fiesty little guy, he's obviously got a temper on him. I smirked as I watched him walk out th'door with his sister in tow, and then looked back t'Carly again.
"So what's his name, then?"
Might as well be makin' some conversation until he's through with her. Then maybe he'll be more interested in talkin' when he gets back.
Reply
"Whose name?" My boyfriend's? Who cares, he's being unfair about this. Ned can call him 'The jackass' for all I care. With the way Sam is starting to act, he should be self aware enough to answer to it.
"Oh. Sam."
I thought Arianna would have told him that much before she brought them here. Geez, she's really infatuated with these guys, isn't she?
I mean, I know they're hot, but I remembered Sam's name, didn't I?
"He's usually not like this. He's just mad that Arianna didn't listen to him. He told her no more time travelling."
And having two outlaws here definitely proves that she isn't above disobeying him. Not that it bothers me, because Ned and Joe are gorgeous, but that's the point. Arianna, who is no longer a little girl, didn't do what her big brother told her to.
I think if I were in her place, I would have hit him. No wonder she went against the rules.
"There was this whole thing where I got him killed and had to go back for him. And then the same thing happened again but I was the one who died, and he had to go back to bring me back, and we swore we wouldn't use the spell again after it all worked out."
I think that sums it up nicely.
"It wasn't that big a deal. We just don't want her screwing something up now that she knows how to do it."
Now that I've explained that one, I should find out if they're single.
Just...out of curiousity.
"So. What's going on back when you guys lived?"
Reply
"Whose name?" Oh. Sam."
I heard Arianna say it before. Ned shoulda been payin' attention.
He's startin' up again. I don't think she'll be understandin' it until its more noticeable, but its likely that Carly will be catchin' onto this soon. Guess that makes it a good idea for them to be puttin' Ned with Miss Arianna insteada here.
I'd rather be roomin' with her, but no one said I couldn't pay her a visit or two while we're around. I'll be sure to do that when I get the chance. I think I remember the way from walkin' here. Its not far, and Ned'll be there. We can keep in contact with each other, and then he can excuse himself so I can chat her up.
"He's usually not like this. He's just mad that Arianna didn't listen to him. He told her no more time travelling."
More. She says it like its common.
"There was this whole thing where I got him killed and had to go back for him. And then the same thing happened again but I was the one who died, and he had to go back to bring me back, and we swore we wouldn't use the spell again after it all worked out. It wasn't that big a deal. We just don't want her screwing something up now that she knows how to do it."
...These people are more strange than they let on, aren't they?
"So. What's going on back when you guys lived?"
"We...uh...Its nothin' you'd find interestin', right Ned?"
Even though Carly seemed to know who we were when Miss Arianna introduced us, I think it'd be foolish to tell them too much. You never know what they'd do with the information, 'specially if they can get back to our time so easily.
Reply
"That's not a reason, Arianna!"
"Because I could."
"If someone gets hurt--"
"No one's going to get hurt you. You're behaving stupid. I'm going to make sure they're taken care of, and then I'll send them back later. I'm not going to tell them anything. I'm going to hide the book later. Just relax. I'm old enough to know some things. Despite what you seem to think."
Her pissy attitude aside, I still don't know. We could change history with having these guys here, and that's what I was worried about with the time travel thing. "Look, I just don't want to screw around with history, alright? That's not our place. They've got lives to get to back in their time, Arianna."
"And they will, right after I send them back. But first, they're visiting us."
"I can't believe you." I sighed, and looked back to the door, then looked to her again. "It's because of Joe, right?"
"No!"
"Oh please."
"... Well, yes. But I'll behave."
"Yeah, I'm really sure you will."
"Sam!"
"Alright!" I sighed and looked back to the door again, then rubbed my eyes. "I still stand by who goes with who." I muttered.
"... Fine. But he gets to come visit me whenever he wants."
"... Does it have to be alone?"
"Sam."
"We'll talk about it when it happens." I don't care if she's old enough to know 'some things', I still don't like the idea of this, and I'm not supposed to, damn it.
"Fine."
"Fine." Well, at least I got her to keep talking, instead of keeping her dead set. Maybe we can move this along. Even though Carly's going to hold onto these guys for as long as she can now too.
I was really looking forward to Fiji. This isn't as good. Or good at freakin' all.
"Hey, can I ask you something before we go back in?"
I have to know if it's just me, and I'm just going crazy, or something. Maybe Arianna picked up on it, and she's just not telling me.
Reply
Is it more questions about stupid things that we can always answer later? I'd like to get back in and see Joe, thank you. And you can live with your girlfriend looking at Ned like she's going to jump him.
"Did you notice me getting... looks, from either of them?"
"What?"
"You heard me."
"No, I didn't." What sort of looks? Bad looks? I frowned as I tried to get what he was implying. He looks really uncomfortable all of the sudden. What's that supposed to mean? "What're you talking about?"
"Nevermind."
Oh no, I want to know now. "Sam, tell me." What looks do you think you're getting?
"Ned."
"What about him?"
"Think, Arianna."
I thought about it, frowned again, and then looked back to the door. Looks. I don't think it's bad ones. But it's obviously not good to him. So what does that mea--...
Oh. Oh!
"Yeah, that's exactly it."
"Oh my God, are you serious?" That's not possible, is it? He seemed straight when I first saw him. But he was very interested in how much Sam and Carly fight. Oh, that's funny. "Are you absolutely sure?"
"I'm sure. I've gotten enough to know."
"From a guy?"
"From... both sides."
"Is this a story that would make me laugh a lot, or gross me out?"
"We'll talk about it another time. Just believe me when I say, I know."
That is too funny. More funny than I can keep a straight face over. "Well." I tried really hard not to laugh. "Think Carly's caught on?"
"She's too busy drooling over him and hating me for saying he can't stay here."
That's true. I bit my lip hard, trying not to laugh, and when he glared at me, I went over and hugged him. "I love you to death, you gay outlaw attracter." I started cracking up into his shoulder.
"I hate you."
"I'm sorry!" No, I'm not, but I do feel a little bad. He's so embarassed, he'll start blushing like crazy any moment if this keeps up.
I pulled away finally, and coughed a few times to stop laughing, then finally pulled back together. "Alright, do you think you can go back in?"
"Yeah, come on."
"I can't wait until Carly's caught on." I laughed and opened the door, coming back in. "Hi."
Reply
"So. What's going on back when you guys lived?"
"We...uh...Its nothin' you'd find interestin', right Ned?"
"Not really." They have to know a bit about us to have been so interested in bringin' us here, but I still don't like the idea of handin' things out until I'm sure of just what they do know.
It's not wise, and I'm thinkin' Joe thinks the same.
I looked up when I saw the door open. Sam and Arianna. Neither one looks angry anymore, in fact, Arianna looks like she finds somethin' funny. So I'll assume that it's been worked out.
"Hi."
"Everythin' alright?"
"Everything's fine. I'm sorry about that, I just needed to talk with my sister."
"No problem at all." I smirked, and wondered just when I was goin' to have to leave here. I'd like to stay a bit longer, but I think I might be goin' with Arianna soon.
And now I'm wonderin' what the beds're like in this time. Might be a sight better than the ones in our time. Not to mention all the other things here that're bound to be different.
I still don't feel quite right about not havin' my gun, or not exactly lookin' like myself... But I have to say, I do feel a bit more comfortable here than I did right off.
Comfortable enough to maybe see if they've something I can have. Carly at least looks like she might be the type, even if the other two don't seem like it.
"Just out of curiosity, I was wonderin' if any of you happen to have somethin' you wouldn't mind us carryin'. Our guns didn't come with us here, and I'm not comfortable with not bein' armed in a place I don't know."
I'm not about to shoot someone at random, but it'd make me feel better. If the guns are different here too, I wouldn't mind learnin' how to use it.
Maybe Sam could teach me, if he knows how to use one.

"You won't need anything. You're not wanted here."
They're "wanted" but they're not "Wanted".
I'd like to see someone try to turn Ned and Joe in. Not really, because it would probably upset them, but still. They've been dead for over a hundred years, they're in the wrong country, and they have no idea what the world is like now. Even jail is a lot more cushy than it was back in their day.
Nowadays, you get to watch movies in jail. Back then, movies didn't exist. Its not a place they'd want to go, but I think they'd mind it less if they ever had to make the comparison.
Who knows, I'd rather keep them out of trouble than find out. Which means no weapons.
"And its not acceptable to go waving around a weapon, no matter what it is."
I could give them each a stake to take around with them. They might feel better having something, I just see that coming back to bite me in the ass too. No matter how we handle this, if we let them arm themselves, it could end badly.
Its bad enough that they die too soon in their time, I don't want the same thing to happen here.
"Everything should be fine. I know you have no reason to trust us, considering the circumstances, but I wouldn't make you go around with nothing if I thought you wouldn't be safe."
That's probably not worth much, but I'm trying.
Reply
Agreed. We're a bit blind to what goes on here. Expectin' some kind of weapon to protect ourselves with shouldn't be expectin' too much. Its odd enough that the guns didn't make it through the...whatever the 'ell that thing was that Miss Arianna sent us through. This world, and the things in it, are gonna be a lot for us to deal with while we're here.
"You won't need anything. You're not wanted here."
Bit harsh of her to say that, wasn't it? Miss Arianna wants us or she'd not have gone to the trouble of comin' to our time to get us. And if she knows of us, and Carly knows of us, then surely others do as well.
Some of these others may not like us, either.
"And its not acceptable to go waving around a weapon, no matter what it is."
Since when?
I'd like to know when that changed. It seems ridiculous of me for people to think that they're completely safe in the world when there are always going to be so called 'men' like Hare in it.
He'd be enough to make anyone want to be armed, wouldn't he?
"Everything should be fine. I know you have no reason to trust us, considering the circumstances, but I wouldn't make you go around with nothing if I thought you wouldn't be safe."
...She has a point.
"Alright, miss. If you say so."
I'm still thinkin' we're likely to find trouble before all this is over and they send us back, but maybe we'll be able to handle it. If no one else is usin' guns, it'll play out fair no matter what.
I'd like somethin' a little more secure than fair, but she doesn't look like she'll be changin' her mind.
Women. I love each and every one of them, but this is insane.
I think I like her for that.
