"You were lucky, weren't you?"
Dan's here, and he's hitting my brother. Oh, well then... That's not good. And is it wrong I'm thinking about him being angry is actually a good look for him? I think it is.

I tried to get around Arianna. It wasn't her fault. I don't want to hit her by accident. I know who deserves the blame for this, she's an innocent bystander. I have to find a way to get her to stop jumping in the middle. I'm not finished.
"Dan, look at me. Stop. You don't know what's going on here."
I slowed to a stop and looked at her. Arianna doesn't know what she's talking about. Sam could have left out the parts of the accident he didn't want anyone to know. How fast he was driving, for example. He might not have told her that. Maybe she doesn't have the whole story.
Or she could be siding with him because they're related. That's hard to believe because Arianna is smart. I'd like to give her more credit than that.

"This isn't the first time this has happened."
I sighed at how he was looking at me, and let his fists go, trying to be the adult serious one here even though he clearly now thinks I'm crazy. That's not the first time a guy's looked at me like that. I think I'm used to it by now.
"Look." I pointed to the stuff for the spell that was being set up. "The first time, Carly and Sam got into a fight, and he was stupid because he was angry, and he was the one that died. She wasn't in the car that time. She was upset over his death, and wanted to change it. So we did this spell..."
Stop that, I'm telling the truth.
"The spell put us back at when Sam left. Carly went for it, and they got into the accident anyway."
I looked over at Sam for the rest, since I wasn't there he's going to have to help me out.

I cleared the blood away from my nose while Arianna talked Dan down enough, and straightened up a bit, wincing at the pain in my stomach. I hate fights. Of all kinds. Sure, I'm the first guy there sometimes, but that's only when I'm pissed enough. And I don't exactly fight with my fists.
So this? I really freakin' don't like.

I was wrong about her. Whenever I talked to Arianna, she always seemed cool. Interesting, silly, I'd have never thought she'd buy into something like that. The worst part is, I can't tell if she honestly believes it, or if she's saying it to defend Sam.
No, the worst part is that Carly is dead. Hearing her friends make excuses and act like they have the power to change what happened is bad, but it's nothing compared to losing my aunt.

I sort of should have know better than to think he'd believe us on this. It was asking a bit much in the state he's in. But still, he couldn't have taken a minute? I mean... I don't like letting him walk out like that.
"It's okay, Ari."
"Yeah..." I sighed as I watched the door for a long minute, and thought about going after him. But I guess it'll be fixed if we can do this right. "Right. We should get going, shouldn't we?"
"We should."
I made myself look away from the door. "Are we set?"
"Yeah dude, we're cool." Madsen looks a little freaked out. "Dude, I think that's the most worked up I've ever seen him. Whoa."
"He won't stay mad if we do this correctly." I muttered, looking everything over, frowning. "He won't even remember it." Which is good. I don't want Dan to go on thinking I'm crazy.
Plus we really do need to get Carly back.
"Alright. Let's do it."
I got everyone into the circle, and started up the spell.
