slightly updating

For Christmas I joined facebook. I am not tracking people down, but will friend you back if you bother to hit me up over there. Already I have been found by a cousin I haven't seen in more than 20 years and friends from Elementary School- really weird, good but weird.

I am finally starting to come out of my busy busy time (Nov-Jan) to the point where I may actually need new client projects in March. LOL no really.

Today is the day where I caught up on housework (and am about to start client work), did cooking and actually did some reading for fun where it felt like I wasn't stealing the time from 6 million projects I *should* have been doing. So I am reading Suze Orman- and she TOTALLY pegged me:

"Those of you who are self-employed of course have a different dynamic to deal with. You aren't asking a boss for a raise; you are asking your clients for a raise. That seems to send women off the deep end; you would rather sit in an ice bath than discuss new rates with your clients."

and it is true- I would rather sit in an ice bath than discuss new rates with my clients (and y'all know how I feel about cold). My preferred method of raising my rates is to get new clients. Really. This wouldn't suck so hard if I was good at ending client relationships- but I suck at that as well (or I am really good at it- for them. I usually try to frame it in that value added portion of my amazingness to make me feel better about myself).

Anyway I am starting to surface (some of you even heard from me today-yay for the telephone) and things are pretty reasonable over here.
