So someone just asked for clarification that I meant that the Long Haul in Berkeley was raided- and the answer is yes they were raided for the first time in 25 years of operation last Wednesday. You can read their description of the raid on their website

the timing seems to indicate that they want to relate something on some computer to something around the RNC actions- but I am totally guessing here.
My point was that if Alameda county, Berkeley and/or Oakland have executed shut downs against organizations- using this timing/climate as an instigating factor then maybe keeping a watch out for your own local anarchists (or the non-central inerest group of your choice) may be in order. Because there are not many other places where it is as easy to be an out political freak as it is here- but apparently pre-emptive at home is just fine. I thought you might want to know
