Why are people so fake on myspace?
I know tons of people in real life that have myspace. When I check out their myspace...it's like I'm looking at a page belonging to some random ass person that I don't even know.
Due to one or both of the following reasons:
1. Their pictures look nothing like them.
Some people photoshop the SHIT out of every picture because they can't show any of their flaws. Is it a crime to have imperfections? It's like everyone wants to be a fucking supermodel on myspace.
Other people have pictures of themselves only at certain angles. I swear...I've gone to pages where EVERY picture looks the same...with different backgrounds/people. I swear ..in real life. People are going to see you at other angles...no matter what you do.
2. Their interests are just a bit exaggerated..or flat out lies.
I'm not going to drop any names, but I have friends who are total liars on myspace. I go to their page...and it says how they like to do this and this and this, but the past few years i've been their friend...i've never once seen them do any of the stuff they mention on myspace. Why do people have to lie to make themselves seem more interesting?
Is myspace like highschool all over again? Is it just one big popularity contest? What's wrong with being yourself? If people don't like you for who you are, then why would you want them as a friend anyway? Why would you remain friends with someone who only likes you when you pretend to be someone you're not? People confuse me.
