I. Went to a hockey game last night with my dad and
goldy_dollar. It was shameful. But I am posting this anyway because when I got home and talked to
bazcat89 and said ‘after the hockey game we went out for dessert’ her reply was ‘OMG YOU ACTUALLY WENT TO A HOCKEY GAME LIRL LIRL LIRL OMG’ so I guess I don’t document my hockey love enough or something? SO HERE IT IS.
It is not getting much love from me at the moment though. Omg Sens, only you would give Price a shutout.

GLORIA DELGADO-PRITCHETT of Modern Family
“You’re too funny. I’m going to share that one with my next husband when we’re spending all your money.”
Gloria is one of the most hilarious parts of Modern Family and also one of my favourite parts. I appreciate endlessly that the show never plays her as vapid or shallow or gold-digging the way the hot young wife often is. Instead the show makes it clear that Gloria genuinely loves and cares about her new family and she’s appropriately horrified by any suggestions otherwise. She is ~sassy~ and capable and clever and doesn’t take shit from Jay or from the rest of the family. And if you insult her heritage she will make you slap a chicken.
Also, on a shallow note, she is gorgeous.
BELLE DE JOUR/HANNAH BAXTER of Secret Diary of a Call Girl
“Aren’t we all going through the motions for money? Aren’t we all whoring ourselves for ‘the man’? Of course not. I’m literally whoring myself. It’s different.”
Hannah/Belle! I love her. Actually I was sort of surprised by how much I ended up liking her (and the show). The character is brilliantly drawn, I think, and Billie Piper acts it well - Hannah and Belle aren’t totally separate, but different sides of the same person. Belle is confident and sure of herself and unflappable while Hannah is a bit of a mess and far more self-conscious than her alter ego, but you can always see one present in the other. Hannah herself spends a lot of time trying to draw lines between the two, and telling Alex at the end of s2 that Belle and Hannah “are one and the same” is a big moment for her.
Hannah is fun and a little whacky and secretive and not the greatest with interpersonal relationships, but she’s kind. She’s smart and funny and stands up for herself, and she knows what she wants and what she likes. She’s sweet and non-judgmental of her clients and genuinely enjoys her job despite the hassle it brings, mostly from the douchebags in her private life. She’s better at managing her career than her personal life, though she tries, and her narration is honest and frank and witty. She’s a strong character, very well-written and well-acted, and I think she is great.
Also, she is smokin’.
