So in case anyone hasn't heard yet, I've lost my job. I enjoyed it, thought it could go longer. I'm looking for work, and I'm sure things will turn up better.
I don't often post here, however a talk with NekoEwen the other night helped me realize I should start writing for myself as habit. So... Every day I'm going to make a point to write *something*. Doesn't matter what, just that I do that and forums or my usual zany hi jinx on City of X doesn't count.
It might be fun to write a few stories and see where they take me.
Now to talk about a few things in my life that are worth talking about:
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles- A reader's digest version of RE:0-3 in light gun game format. Narrated by series villain, Albert Wesker, I found that it helps explain the situations of the game series and beyond it. Still I'm a little cheesed "Bad Actin" Barry Burton doesn't make a single appearance, and while I enjoyed the story on how Ada (from RE2) escapes the city, I was disappointed that once again Rebbecca Chambers isn't mentioned after the first game. Yes, she got out okay from the mansion, but thats it... it's like she eloped with the phantom janitor.
And if you value your hands when playing the game, go buy the Zapper attachment. Holding the wiimote like a gun just tore up my fingers before I figured out how to hold it properly, still the zapper made it rather comfy.
Mass Effect- This game is all levels of awesome. "Jack Bauer in Space" is a good tag for it, but what really sells the game is that the setting, the aliens, and the tech works well together and seems like a viable, solid universe. (unlike most computer/console RPGs that don't really make much sense when nations or governments, commerce or other races are brought up.) I'd love to use the setting for some sort of star faring RPG one of these days, and the soundtrack is one of my favorite things to listen to at the moment.
In the comic front, I've finished up Genshiken, which ended in a nice fashion, and Stray Little Devils which ended rather apocalyptic for a cute little story about a girl in the spirit world.
I've been reading the first volumes of Kurohime, and I like it, but it's getting too predictable on levels more appropriate for scooby doo. Does anyone know if it changes up?
