wanted to be either a TV reporter or have my own talk show. Growing up I
realized having my own talk show would be a little hard so I want to be a TV
reporter. Thing is a news station depends very much on computers. Without
computers there would be no news stations.
Being a TV reporter is hard work and without computers it would even be
harder. Computers play a main role for TV reporters. Computer monitors what
goes on during the station. What the TV reporter’s say goes on a little screen on
the TV but computer controls that. Without computers they would have cue cards
like they had in the old days. Cue cards are a waste of paper and a waste of
time. They take forever to write on because you have to write big and clearly to
read for the reporters. A computer you can type it in instead of handwriting it
because typing in what the reporters have to say into the screen is much quicker
and easier.
Another thing computers do for my future career is they are able to make
things live. Before computers TV was never live. Computers can also edit things
out. If I got a black eye from playing baseball with my child they are able to
block it out with computers. I mean who would want to see a TV reporter with a
black eye. TV reporters have to look good; no zits or anything like that. Their
face, and hair has to be perfect and if its not then the computer can fix it so then
they are perfect to the TV viewers. Also if someone is interviewing someone or a
celebrity and they accidentally curse computers are able to block that out with a
bleep. If I miss a line, they are able to cut and re do it with computers help so
then I don't look like a fool in front of thousands of viewers who watch the show.
Computers can also make the bottom of the TV very pretty with graphics.
Usually what's on the bottom of the screen is the stations name, the weather, the
time and then also they have the news go by short bits of it, the sports, traffic,
and anything else that is important that viewers might want to see. Its nice for
the viewers to have because then if the viewer doesn't have time to listen to all
the news they can look at the bottom of the screen to see what's going on, how
hot or cold its going to be so they can get dressed. And that's all thanks to a little
thing called a computer! Computers can also have more than one thing
recording at the same time which is basically live fed when you see the news
station on one half and the live reporter on the other half.
Without computers existing in this world, tv reporting would exist but it wouldnt be as great as it is today. You wouldnt get up to date reports, fresh sports score, hourly weather and traffic reports or news. If computers werent around your news would be old from a day or two ago, you wouldnt know what to wear or how the roads will look like before you go to work. Computers are here for many other reasons as well, but Im thankful that computers are around to make my future career
