What is a livejournal for?!
Well... key word journal.
The only difference is that livejournal can be looked upon by friends daily.
A journal is for expressing yourself, writing what you have on your mind. Whether it's of jovial or depressed content, you should be able to let feelings out in any way you see fit.
If you have a problem with people "looking for pity" in their livejournal, have you ever taken into consideration that maybe that person actually has a problem, and they wrote in there Livejournal because they might expect to get some constructive feedback from their friends.
People should be able to put what ever they want in their livejournal... and get nothing but positive or constructive feedback unless asked otherwise.
If you don't feel like reading some one's journal, then don't read it. Also keep in mind that maybe they read your journal everyday.
If you think about it, all of us (yes, including me) are all being WICKED lame ass friends.
Just take the time to reflect on that thought.
