What does your future look like?

This is one of those open ended topics. Seein' that the future is not written in stone. I could answer it a million different ways. Seein' the future holds an infinite amount of outcomes. Some good and some bad. That is the way of things. Only someone who is very naive would believe they have the power to foresee what their future holds. And make no mistake. I'm many things, but a fool is not one of 'em.

So the future can either be brighter or darker. Humanity has that pesky thing called free will. Freedom to choose their future. No one man, nor no written words can be expected to give the answers. Make the right choices and the future will turn out good. Make bad choices and lets just say the future won't be a very nice place to be.

Anyhow, I'm not a big believer in fate or destiny. I think such things are used as excuses for mankinds own shortcomings. Be it good or bad, most folks just wanna blame everythin' on some unseen outside force. On some external cause. Blame God or the Devil for earthquakes or hurricanes. Blame bad luck for all their screw ups and mishaps. Not accept that bad things happen for no reason. Or that bad things happen cause bad choices was made. Build your house on sand, and bad things are always gonna happen to it. Nothin' to do with fate or destiny, just good old common sense. So I for one try not to make foolish choices. I think before I act. I learn from past mistakes. I learn from the error of my ways. Don't mean I still won't fail from time to time. But I will always face my obstacles and overcome them. Above all else I shall endure forever and always.

Anyhow, its the big picture that concerns me most. I don't care about all the day to day problems. Problems come and go like a footprint on a sandy beach. Til the end of time, that will always be true. Yet for one and all, the future will have a day when the biggest challenge of all will have to be faced. Everyone, no matter how great or good will inevitably face an obstacle that cannot be overcome. For in the end the ultimate outcome cannot be avoided. Like any game, there has to be a beginnin', a middle, and an end. The future is where the end will be. I for one am in no hurry to get to the end of the story just yet. The journey is where all the fun is to be had.

So what does my future hold? To be bluntly honest, I don't much care. Let my final destination be whatever it will be. For better or worse. Whatever the future holds, only time will tell. But I will end with my final thoughts on things yet to come. Lets just say the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
