Topic 210 - Crystal Ball
If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about any one thing you wished -- concerning yourself, your life, the future, or anything else -- what would you want to know?
Why should I want to know the truth about the past, present, or future? I am The First Evil. I know all there is to know about myself, and about those I seek to influence and manipulate. I am the ultimate mover and shaker. And, not some pathetic passive little mortal waiting to be moved by whatever occurrences fate chooses to send their way. I am beyond fate or destiny. I am free will.
And I am all in favor of the humans trying to know the future... or try to learn some deep dark secret about their past that they are consumed to know, about their parents, or loved ones. For orphans, they usually wanna know who are their real parents? For most people, they wanna know the truth about life. What's the meaning of life? Why are they here? Is their a plan? What are they meant to do with their life? Will they ever amount to anything? And a million more questions coming from confusion, self-doubt, and fear of inadequacy. Never realizing that life is about living and learning, and experiencing new things. And not about having all the answers given to you. Cause their will never be answers, or no simple ones anyway to the ultimate questions. For life isn't a game, or a show. It is unscripted, and the participants are free to choose which path they take. They are influenced by the reality they find them self, and the fate of where they came into existence, yet are free to change. Free to be good or evil. To love or hate. Capable of rising above whatever hand fate dealt them to be either less or more. With each action they make creating new paths, and new choices. New opportunities, and old regrets. And altering the life course of all they touch or influence.
Crystal balls or fortune tellers... and especially Ouija Board... those are such fun activities played by the spiritually curious. Those seeking answers to life's problems. Those that are too afraid to accept that life doesn't have simple yes or no answers. Yet black and white answers is what some people want. Although some people are easy to fool, Ouija Boards aren't really very easy to influence. I am incorporeal, after all, and those damn pointers do need a little muscle, but suggestion can work wonders. And such gullible fools that really want to believe, are easily made to see whatever they want to see. Best of all, under those circumstances a few appearances as a long-lost loved one can have them eating out of my hand.
People who are afraid of the future... are easily influenced and once they start playing with crystal balls... and scrying glasses... it's easy to nudge them in the direction that I want them. Though regrettably they might not like the truth that I show them. Cause when it comes to me, the truth doesn't set you free, it just hurts.
But for me? Why would I want to know the future? Pain, suffering, corruption, oppression, poverty, social decline, death, and destruction. For all humans that freely choose to be consumed by cruelty, evil, and hatred, I am their future.
