Underoath/Hopesfall/TheChariot show

i took today off to go see this show. yay me.

ferdi and i got there (slim's) at the very end of fear before the march of flames. i'd never heard of them, and ferdi said they sounded like hawthorne heights. i thought they sounded more like the chariot than h.h. they sounded good, even though i only got to hear about 2 songs. i got a sampler with them on it, and it just might make me buy their cd sometime.

the chariot is fucking sick! they are awesome. all 4 of them just play their hearts out and go apeshit on stage. they really presented themselves well, putting their all into their performance. it was totally inspiring. josh skogin (sp?), the singer, is a huge dork, which is what i like to see in bands. i hate the totally serious dickshits that front most bands. stop taking yourselves so seriously and laugh a little. ranting..

hopesfall was good. i was disappointed in how short they played, though. they started off with the very first song (andromeda??) on the satellite years, and that really made me happy. they also played the bending, and track 8 or 9 off this one. they played one song off their first demo cd, and 3 or 4 songs off of a types, including my favorite, the ones. they sounded fucking awesome! however, their singer jay is a weird dude. his stage presence is mostly just staring out into the crowd (when he isn't singing). it kinda takes away from the performance. otherwise, i loved them.

underoath was fucking great! they came out kicking ass, and never stopped. their whole show was almost non-stop. between songs, the drummer or the keyboardist would do some stuff to keep the music flowing into the next song. their drummer is really amazing! the record doesn't do him justice. he goes apeshit live, and he still manages to hit his notes when he sings. he is soooooo much better than atreyu's drummer/vocalist. i really was impressed with their set. their album feels very screamo, but seeing them, i felt that they are a hardcore band that plays emo music. they played a new song that was amazing! i love them. i should go to warped tour so i can see them and hella other bands, too. we'll see.

i talked to greg larson tonite for the first time in years! i missed that guy. he lives in so cal near tree, in fullerton. he works at disneyland. he told me that he might be able to get sammy and me into disneyland for free when we go down there in the summer. i just gotta let him know. when we go down to tree's the day before coachella starts, i wanna go kick it with him.

well, that's all for now.
