Hollywood is Dirty and Filthy...
just finished unpacking... wow, what a long 3-day weekend. technically it was a 4 day trip, but not really. Day by day:
THURSDAY:
got off work at 10:30. rushed home to change, pick up everything, and help geoff tune his snare drum. picked up sam at 11:30, fernando at 11:45 or so, got gas, and got on the road at 12:15. made our usual stops at the first 2 rest stops. saw some bunnies like always at the first one. love that! at 3 am, we stopped in coalinga, cuz i love to stop there, for some reason. it smells like cow, but i have a slight affection for stopping at this particular gas station and getting some late-nite munchies. skipped the 3rd rest stop, and opted to get gas at the wendy's/no name gas station in lost hills. love that place, too. stopped at the 4th rest stop at like 4:30. then just drove non-stop until we got to tree's at 7:15. la traffic was murder. oh, IT RAINED THE WHOLE WAY THERE. big whoop, it made no difference. we arrived right on time. and boy did we all collapse when we got there.
FRIDAY:
sam and i were awoken by tree and gully at 12:15. chilled for days. left the house at 2 and ate brunch at jack beezie (jack-in-the box). then we went and got tix for constantine and got jamba juice. jamba ruled, constantine sucked. sorry fernando, i was sooooooooo BORED by this movie. i will give it that it was not a predictable hollywood movie, but i just didn't give a fuck about it, and i wanted it to end sooo bad. checked in at tree's, then went and got dinner at in-n-out. had nothing to do, so we just drove around santa ana for like an hour. pretty ghetto lil place. figures. went to von's (aka socal's safeway) and bought some alcohol. smirnoff ice triple black for the girls, and smirnoff raspberry vodka for everyone. drank a lil that nite, but we all were too tired to get smelly, so we crashed at about 2.
SATURDAY:
awoken by sam and tree takin pics of gully and me. interesting way to wake up. can't remember what time.. left the house at like 1:30, and went to santa ana for doughnuts at YUM YUM DOUGHNUTS!!!!!!!!!!!! it was really a yum yum, too! it was soooooooooooo good!! everyone said i looked like i was in heaven with my three chocolate doughnuts. i was! this ruled!! i miss yum yum! so then we got some gas, got my car washed, and then got on the 5 and went to hollywood. see headline. anyway, first we went to the music places. looking back, this was a bad decision, cuz it started a chain of events that ruined the day. we went to guitar center, and i bought a pair of sticks. gully tried out a fender amp. went to the mesa boogie store. went to another music store called sam ash. bought a double kick pad for my new double pedal, and another pair of sticks. left and tried to go to the cemetary so tree and sam could get married, but it was closed. i felt so bad!! this was all sam and tree wanted to do in the day, and i ruined it. i tried to make up for it by asking for directions to the hollywood sign. we went to griffith park, cuz a guy told me this was as close as he know how to get to it. i think the road to get to it was closed, thanks to all the rain and mudslides in the park. the park was awesome though. it got my car all muddy, and i didn't mind, actually. tree and sam got married in a tunnel. at this point, we all were kinda upset, so things were bad. we just decided to go and eat. ate some kick ass burgers at fatburger. now time for the bad part of the nite. couldn't find the normal like you show anywhere. kept tryin to get directions online on my cell phone, but it was confusing us. tried calling 411, and that didn't help at all. at 8:15, gully called his friend larry who gave us directions via mapquest. nly started at 8:30. tree was so pissed. we all were. it seemed like everything was going wrong. sam asked me to go to the grumman's chinese theatre. arrived there at like 9 something. we all were kinda weird still. just walked around some shops for a while. bought some ice cream at coldstone creamery. this is where we started to get better. walked around the front of the theatre for hella days. it was great. went down to the wax museum to see how much it was. walked back to get some money from atm. found a picture thingy and took bunch of pics. went back to museum at 11 something and just walked inside and had a time. this made our nite. left for home at like 11:45. immediately upon arriving, we took shots. from 1 until 3, we just kept gettin drunker and drunker. it was great. totally made our nite the greatest. passed out at 4, all still drunk.
SUNDAY:
awoke by sam at 9:15. told her i didn't need to be up until 9:45. they gave me til 9:50. i love my friends! got jamba at 10:20. arrived at tree's work and said our goodbyes, since she worked at 11. i'm gonna miss her!! can't wait to see her and get drunk again at coachella!! anyways, got brunch at jack beezie. on the road at 12. took a detour to lakewood mall. wanted to see if i should get some new shades. decided against it. completely pointless detour. made it through the grapevine by 3 or so. stopped at the rest stop. i didn't get enough sleep, so i stopped a lot to rest. stopped in lost hills for wendy's lunch and gas at 4 something. bought chips, too, for later. stopped abruptly in coalinga at 5, cuz i ran over a hubcap that came off of a car and rolled into my lane. sucked!! i wanted to make sure the element was okay, and it was, so i bought a sobe energy and ate the chips. heh, there was a bee terrorizing gully, so we were in my car eating. it kept flying into my windshield. IT RAINED BUGS ALL DAY!! my windshield was completely covered in bug guts! so gross!! got back on the road, and i started to get really drained, so i stopped at every rest stop. even tried to take a nap at one. i think this really pissed off sam and gully, but whatever. i was tired, and i wanted to keep driving, since gully was nappin on and off in the back. finally got on 580 at like 7 something. got fernando home at 8:15, and got to my house at 8:45. it's good to be home, but i wish i was still there, just havin fun. coachella's at the end of april, so these months better go by as quick as the first two did!
