had the day off today. i love vacation. overall a good day.
worked out with my trainer at 11 am. a very good way to start my day. he mixed up weights with cardio today, and did some abs, too. i'm still a weakling, but he says i am very determined and likes that about me. hell yeah i am, i paid good money for this shit. it ain't gonna go to waste, i'll tell you that.
helped sammy do some laundry after picking her up from school. after that, and dinner at in-n-out, we went to slim's to see eisley. i enjoyed the whole show. they picked two really interesting, excellent bands to tour with. little side note, all the bands used 1x12 amps, no half stacks here. colour (or the colour, i dunno) was one of those indie dance-punk style bands. think franz ferdinand, with a singer trying to envoke robert smith of the cure, but being american. they were good. every song was chock full of hooks, as that type of music should, along with the disco-style drum parts. it's kool, i knew it would be that way. the elected was a trip. i really can't describe them. they were kinda twangy, with slow-tempo songs. i guess they were like alt-country, like ryan adams, and maybe a lil bit like elliot smith, though i haven't heard much of him, so maybe not. their whole set was good, but on the last song, they busted out towards the end. it was fucking awesome, and it hella reminded me of trail of dead. i hella dug that. eisley was great, as always. sam was a lil upset, cuz they were all these guys around where we were, so she couldn't see the whole stage. she got some awesome pics on her camera though, and she got to record her song, golly sandra. after the show, i bought sam a shirt, and she got to go get her cd signed by all the members except the bassist. since eisley is a band of sisters, their brother on drums, and their neighbor on bass, she essentially got the siblings to sign her cd. that made her very happy. i love that girl. good nite
