Hello folks
Kirsten, 20, Inverness/Edinburgh
This is the first free weekend I've had in a while.
It includes an assault on Edinburgh Castle, some wanderings, and hanging out times,

Good morning everybody!

I allowed myself a cheeky wee lie in!

I was happy to see that the sun was shining through my curtains after having 2 previous days of horrible weather.

I Get a text from my twin sister confirming she's up for a day at the castle...she's in the next room at this point.

So, I get up and put in contacts and clean teeth.

Shower!

After my shower I sneak into my sister's room - she's got all the good mirrors and the makeup!

All clean! Time to do the face!

Eyes!

Drying the hair!

I'm ready to face the world!

Good morning Medows!

I do the dishes from last night because I get grumpy when they build up!

I come through to find that my sister is awake and ready to face the day!

I put my hair up because it's quite windy outside.

Ready to face the world!

Our newly fixed door! I love being able to shut it without a problem! More importantly, I don't have to worry about getting locked out!

We discover a problem - The sun is making it warm and we've dressed inappropriately!

So we go back and take of various jumpers etc!

We make our way across the medows - unfortunately the flowers are nearly past their best.

This will be a common view for any Edinburgh Uni Students out among you!

Sammy is happy on arriving on campus!

But out joy is short lived because we can't get into out union for lunch because of a "private function." It was also colder than I had first point!

But it's ok because we went for bagels!

Time check.

One for sorrow?

Ah, two for joy!

So we head towards the castle. Edinburgh was very busy with tourists so I blended in well with my camera!

We head down Candlemaker row - Sammy is attacked by some flying dust.

Up, up, up the stairs we go..

Our destination looms large ahead.

We glance back at where we'd come from!

After paying, we head through the portcullis

I am a bit outraged at the price of the ticket.

But dorkily excited to be in the castle!

Sammy shoots at some invaders!

Burg living up to its reputation as the Athens of the North.

Boom

Sammy enjoying the view

The One o' Clock gun - we were too late to see it firing today.

We make our way into the citadel.

This beautiful church is now a war memorial to Scottish soldiers You can't take cameras inside but it's full of books with lists of names. Some really rude guy answered his phone and started talking really loudly inside - he got tolt tae leave!

We found Mon's Meg, a very big, very famous cannon. Apparently it once shot a cannonball 2 miles!

Looking for a push?

The front of the war memorial

We decided it was time for a break - and a break means CAKE. (It was expensive too.)

Upsides down time check!

Cake finished, time to have a look at a last few things!

Sammy poses in the dungeon! I thought about leaving her there because it was quite spooky - it was windy INSIDE!

We decide it's time to head home!

We stop at Sainsbury's to get tea - Sammy doesn't really like Sainsbury's.

After arriving home, I do some computering!

Half five? It must be tea time.

Ah, twin was one step ahead!

We have a tasty tea and watch Over the Rainbow.

There was a bit of out-of-tune-ness in one of the songs - the rest were good though.

My friend Katie arrives!

She brings us chocolate! And we settle down to watch Beauty and the Beast.

I check the tennis scores.

It's not good for Mr Murray. Sad Times :(

Katie and I play fastest finger first - it looks fun but it gets very competitve and often violent.

Half ten and Kmils goes home.

Sammy soon decides it's bedtime for her.

I take my make up off and head bedwards with my computer.

Do some computering.

A text from my sister - the follow up to this was - "Stop it, it's too late and creepy." How rude.

I realise that the clocks go forwards and that it's actually half 1. I decide it's sleeptime.

Night night!
